Hotel has spectacular views and is an easy walk to the Medieval Citadel and walled town where there are plenty of restaurant choices for dinner. I recommend you have breakfast at the hotel. It is great value and includes local yogurt, cheese, ham, a soft or hard boiled egg, a basket of bread and pastries, a basket of fresh fruit, fresh pressed apple juice and coffee or tea of your choice. The property shares the bar/breakfast space, pool and spa, with its luxury sister property.

It was a wonderful place with friendly staff and close proximity to the castle. The animals around the building made it even better as they were always friendly and excited to hang out. The bar had great drinks, snacks, and breakfast. We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much!

The room appeared clean but had a strange odour. Unhelpful staff when we asked to upgrade / change room. Decor very tired. No kettle or fridge in the room. Lacking English speaking TV channels. But great location.

Lovely hotel. So clean. Nicely styled outdoor seating area and swimming pool. Very efficient and friendly staff. One young male member of staff gave a recommendation of a local cocktail served at the hotel. It was very good. He also helped with explaining about the tickets for a train journey I had booked. The red decor of the room we stayed in was a bit oppressive but it didn’t spoil our stay: minor gripe.

Excellent place to stay for a visit to the wonderful city of Carcasonne. Convenient, safe parking on-site for 15 euros per night. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable, across the road from the main hotel reception but that wasn’t a problem. Lovely pool and pool area with sun beds, which we made use of.

Stunning location and perfectly placed

Stunning location and perfectly located. Breakfast v good and pool just what was needed to cool down. Staff lovely but not enough of them so service was a bit slow.

Gorgeous hotel, lovely pool, great food, friendly staff and the cutest chien et chat. Ladies, take a mirror so you can do your makeup outside, as the spotlights in the bedrooms and bathroom make it tricky... Other than that, we loved it. What a location!!

Fantastic location directly in front of the walls of Carcassone. Easy and secure parking. Lovely pool and hot tub( but small). The hotel is lovely and the rooms are modern, but compact. We had a patio which was a bonus.

The hotel had a great location and excellent parking facilities, but the room was impossibly small and the shower controls took me a half hour to figure out and could never maintain constant temperature. Consequently, we avoided showering.

The view from our room was absolutely beautiful. The people at the reception where very very nice. Our room was not very clean. I took pictures of the floor that looked like it had not been swept in days.

Room was basic & very small. Thin curtains with street lights shining through. A/C was too noisy to have on. Informed hotel 2 months in advance that we were vegan….still served yogurt, butter, cakes & pastries for breakfast. All we could eat was rolls & an apple. Plus is the location & parking.

The property is run down. It could use some upgrades. Air conditioning is shared by 4 rooms so doesn’t work. Decorating could be better. Cheap wall paper to cover old walls. Hallways painted black and carpet is dirty and worn.

The shower was set up in a way that the whole bathroom flooded when anyone took a shower. But this seems to be common in France in general. One of our outside doors wouldn't close/latch, so we had to close and lock a secondary shutter outside the door.

The Hotel is in an excellent position, pool area beautiful and Breakfast very nice. Bedroom was fine comfortable and quiet however bathroom was dirty with hair on the floor behind the door, was pointed out and room was cleaned but hair remained. Plug in bath blocked and dirty. No wifi however WiFi is advertised but cannot reach the rooms. This was mentioned at least 5 times during my stay and each time I was told there is WiFi and they would reset it. WiFi does not even show on the networks when searching for it. Not acceptable to advertise WiFi and not have it. Love that the hotel has a dog.

Premium location: the fortress is right in front. You can walk from the front desk to the front entrance of the fortress in less than 10 minutes--closer to 5. Pool, bar, & parking all good (tight parking). Property consists of 2 hotels main & bldg across the street. I booked 6 mos. in advance for 2 people & still didn't get in main bldg. Add'l bldg rooms very small (even by European studs); you have to sit and pivot to fit onto toilet. Free bathroom amenities are a "community" shampoo/soap bottles in bathroom. Hence, rooms nothing great, but the fact you can get a hotel this close, w/ a pool, w/ a/c, near the airport, & a great view (from bar not your room) makes it worthwhile. Also, great bakery in walking distance. The staff was nice enough, the location is safe, and housekeeping does a great job. If you arrive late, you may not get a parking space so keep that in mind. We did not get the breakfast; we chose to walk to the bakery each day for coffee and pastries. Many nearby restaurants were simply average, but the tapas bar in the Fortress named, "Escargot" was very good. If you stay at Montmorency, take advantage of exploring the fortress in the evening when the crowds are gone. So, overall, I'd give it 4-stars because of its location.
