A stunning promenade location for this Edwardian Villa, overlooking the beach, Belfast Lough and beyond to Scotland. It is a self-catering gem of a property and has flexible accommodation for 2-8 people. The period furnishings combined with modern amenities make this a wonderful base for family gatherings or a peaceful break. It is also ideal as a base for exploring, either by car or by train.
Whitehead is the home of the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland, but the modern trains run every half hour to Belfast and regularly to Larne Harbour. By car, it is easy to explore the Gobbins, the Antrim coast, Giant’s Causeway, or perhaps the Fermanagh Lakelands or County Down, with its Mourne Mountains and beautiful coast.
Whitehead is a late Victorian town, in a conservation area, nestled at the mouth of Belfast Lough. It has the perfect blend of local amenities, with coffee shops, a bakery, convenience stores, pubs and various small restaurants. For the active, there is a path around the historic Blackhead lighthouse, golf courses, and the open water, with opportunities to join in with sailing, rowing, swimming and paddle boarding.
The nearest large town is Carrickfergus, which features a Norman castle (built in 1180) and many other attraction, but Belfast is within easy reach, with its first class food scene, St George’s Market, Titanic Museum and great city centre.
Whatever your plans, the Edwardian Villa will feel like a home you never want to leave.
