This little house is located in an exclusive and unique estate consisting of several villas and trulli, separated by pine trees. It is known as "La Palombara" and was popular with VIPs in the seventies and eighties. At the end of 2019 we rediscovered this heavenly place and we chose to upgrade and redesign parts. It is now available for guests that are looking for a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In the photo gallery you will find a map of the entire grounds. A path leads from the property directly to the sea. On your way down, you will pass some picnic areas with breathtaking views. Once on the rocky beach, you will find four access points for swimming, diving, snorkeling or fishing in the crystal clear water of the Lower Adriatic Sea. It might be possible to see passing dolphins especially from the picnic areas. (Caution: the path and access to the sea from the rocks is not suitable for small children or people with disabilities).The trullo, made of beautiful stone walls, has one double room with fully renovated en-suite bathroom with shower and a living space with kitchen (including a dishwasher), an additional single bed and a fireplace. The interior is simple but functional; there is no TV nor air conditioning, but the thick walls and pine trees mitigate the heat of the summer sun. Free WiFi available, unlimited and perfectly suited for those who are here to work remotely from a stunning location. A barbecue and an outdoor shower complete the picture.The well-known fortified village of Castro, with its bars, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket, can be reached on foot in less than ten minutes. The walk is along a charming path under the ancient Messapian walls. Sheets, duvets and towels are not included. If you don't want to bring them with you from home, regardless of the length of your stay, you can rent them for €24 per person. Final cleaning is not included and costs €80, unless you clean yourselves before departure. Dogs and pets are allowed (max 2 dogs or pets, surcharge €100 per dog/pet). You will need to inform us in advance. We will ask you to pay a security deposit of €400 before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded within 7 days after departure, if there is no damage. Electricity costs (and thus where applicable AC, hot water, heating etc.) are NOT included in the price and will be charged based on your actual consumption. The price per kWh charged to guests was €0,52 on 06/01/2025, when this text was last updated, but as prices are fluctuating a lot, your actual price per kWh will be communicated a few days before your arrival based on the current market price.We decided not to include electricity costs in the rent in order to: a) keep our rental prices stable despite inflation and b) incentivate our guests to use electricity responsibly, helping us to reach our sustainability goals.
