San Placido Inn is a very private, small, and gozy place, on the top-floor of a city house. The location is perfect for a tourist. Breakfast on the balcony is unique and tasty.

The place was a great location for sightseeing and a charming spot. We really enjoyed the balcony and view. the room was comfortable with all the amenities. The breakfast was good. The only annoying fact was the toilette which often didn't flush. But I would still recommend this hotel

Great customer service and location

the location of the B&B was perfect for visiting different places. The rooms were clean, and Pepa's customer service was great. She gave good advice on where to go and what to do. We recommend this place to stay when visiting Catania.

Our rooms were just as pictured online. Everything was spotlessly clean, the breakfast area and terrace were delightful, with a clear view of nearby landmarks, including cathedral dome, and a straight-on view of Mt. Etna. Breakfast was more than expected, with egg, toast, local meats & cheese, yogurt, and warm, flaky chocolate croissants. Wi-fi connection was clear and consistent. Best of all was our friendly and helpful hostess, Pepa. She offered great suggestions for dining, shopping, and touring. She also arranged for a private driver and our ride back to the airport. We highly recommend the San Placido Inn!

We wanted to stay in the centre of Catania to see the city. The San Placido Inn was on the top floor of an old villa with a lift. The rooms were large spacious and airconditioned. Breakfast was very nice but best of all was the location. The terrace looked out on the Teatro Massimo opera house roof, Chiesa della Badia di Sant'Agata and the roof of the Basilica Cattedrale di Sant'Agata and best of all a magnificent view of Mt Etna. We were definitely in the center of Catania, a short walk to the Piazza del Duomo and the hop on hop off bus starting point was just around the corner. Our host was wonderful and our stay was even better than we could have hoped for.

Location is close to the main square. Good breakfast and air-conditioned. A little road noise but the central location means you can’t avoid this. The property is on the top floor and our room had good outside space. Breakfast is outside with view of Etna. I would definitely stay again.

This is a completely beautiful B&B hotel. Th room was gorgeous - clean and spacious. Very nice breakfast. Pepe was super in providing lovely cappuccinos and making me welcome. The most wonderful thing about this hotel is the amazing roof terrace with spectacular views... a lovely place to spend the evening watching the sunset with a glass of Etna wine with Etna gently smouldering (whilst I was there) in the distance. Fabulous place.

Super central and an amazing terrace

An amazing room with a big nice terrace with a beautiful view. We had booked 3 nights but the first night we were taken to a flat in a poor standard with no discount to the price. Beside that everything worked fine and a super service.

The hotel is ideally located to go to the most interesting places in Catania, within walking distance. Restaurants, shops and squares. Behind the duomo. The room was spacious, comfortable, with beautiful and elegant decoration, with a terrace, which has a beautiful view. Delicious and abundant breakfast. The most important thing, the kindness of Pepa, always attentive to the guests, seeking to make them very comfortable. The host, a very kind person too. I recommend the hotel and hope to return. Thank you for hosting me very well.

Perfect location for this B&B

Our first concern,: there is no street sign to identify this business. Lucky the cleaning lady came to let is in. Give us the keys of the room, Pepa was very helpful in providing information for what to explore around. The breakfast was very good. This establishment is well dated, I believe there never had a deep cleaning. Pictures of the bedroom was true, however the advertisement does not show pictures of the bathrooms, there is a good reason, shower stall is no more than 5 SQ feet, I did found difficulty in go in and out. The location was very central and easy access to downtown.

Great place in old town Catania

It's a lovely hotel on the top floor of an old palazzo with roof terraces right next to three important churches in old town Catania, the Duomo the Badia of S. Agata, and S.Placido. My room was spacious with ample storage capacity and a nice terrace overloking the harbor area. The bathroom was fine, including the very Italian necessity of a bidet. The shower stall was quite compact and I had to squeeze tough to get through the corner opening. Breakfasts were great, right to my liking, and were served on another roof terrace by Pepe, the manageresse, who was very helpful during my weeklong stay. The only negative item I can list is that the toilet flushing mechanism has little water pressure and requires patience!

Superb host

Could not of asked for a better host and felt extremely well looked after for the duration of my stay. Hotel was a little difficult to find as only indication of location was a small sign with a bell next to the large wooden doors in the square. Use the lift and not the stairs unless you’re feeling very athletic. Hire car drivers please be aware of the numerous ZTL zones in the centre of Catania and speed cameras in the east of Sicily.

It has taken me some time to get to this review, but I owe my amazing time in Sicily to my amazing host, Peppa! She was hospitable, accommodated me with a great room when mine was not ready yet, suggested local spots, and tried her best to speak English with me. The location is central and easy to navigate to from the Airport-Bus system. The main city train station is not far either and it was so easy to catch to visit more northern and southern parts of Sicily. Again, thank you Peppa and this amazing location! I will definitely come back, God willing!

A wonderful host named Peppa in a great setting.

I had a wonderful 3 night stay. My room was big and comfortable, with a Patio overlooking a square and the sea but the best of the whole stay was Peppa. She made me feel very welcome and taken care of despite being really busy. She gave me tips and recommendations of where to eat and which beach to go and just extremely helpful and kind. The B&B is really well situated. It was wonderful to be able to have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the top of St Agatha church and mount Etna. An absolutely wonderful view! I felt very lucky to have found this place and i have recommended it to friends and family already and when i go back to Catania that's where i'll stay again. Thank you Peppa and all for a wonderful stay.

Die Dusche war das einzige Manko, da der Einstieg sehr end war. Ansonsten kann ich nur gutes sagen. Die zimmer hatten eine gute Größe, waren sehr sauberund schön hell. Ich hatte eine geniale Terrasse mit blick auf den Hafen. Die Lage war perfekt für Ausflüge, da die busverbindunen in alle Richtung in 5 min. erreichbar waren. Das centrum war auch in 3 mon. erreichbar einfach perfekt. Besonders hervorheben möchtevich die gute Seele des Hauses, und zwar Beppa!!! Sie kümmert sic kümmert sich beim Frühstück um dein wohl und versucht dir jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen, wenn sie kann! Sie ist unbezahlbar und hat immer einen guten Tipp und ein offenes Ohr wenn du was brauchst. Ich hoffe,ihr Chef weiß was er an ihr hat!!!! Ganz liebe Grüße von Jola
