Line Fire disaster.
Our VRBO vacation rental property was booked in advanced for the Lake Arrowhead brew fest that was being held on Sept 7th, 2024. With our luck a few days before our trip was taking place the Line fire started in San Bernardino County. Upon arrival to our Lake Arrowhead rental property on Sept 7th we were greeted by hazy skies and ash falling. Half of our group decided to forgo the brewery festival and make our way back to the cabin to stay clear from the smoke and ashes as some of the women are pregnant and children were present. As the day went on the fire neared closer and alerts were going off on our phones about the air quality being terrible and also there may be an evacuation warning in effect soon due to the fire. As a group we decided it was best for us to go back down the mountain and avoid being woken up by alerts indicating we are being evacuated and need to gather the kids, supplies, luggage and make our way out of the propert in the middle of the night.
