Only 2 miles up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses where there is a wider range of shops and eateries available. Boat trips from the harbour can be arranged to visit the magnificent Farne Islands, famous for their puffins and seal colonies. A further 3 miles brings you to Bamburgh, dominated by its majestic castle and glorious beach. The historic town of Alnwick with its beautiful gardens and superb castle is only a short drive inland.
