About this property
The Rectory Lacock, family accommodation in the heart of Lacock
The Rectory Lacock is a secure gated site comprising a Boutique B&B with two holiday cottages in the grounds. Converted from the original former rectory stables, Wheeler Cottage is the smaller of our two cottages. It has a vaulted roof in the lounge/kitchen area and a view over the rectory gardens. Wheeler Cottage has one double room with a king size bed and a second bedroom with bunk beds, suitable for children only. The cottage accommodates four people and is ideally suited for a couple, a young family or business people working in the local area. The cottage accommodates a maximum of two adults (main bedroom) and two children (bunk beds – second bedroom). It does not accommodate more than two adults or adults in separate beds.
Wheeler Cottage is well equipped with a fully fitted kitchen including an electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. There is a bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and basin. All linen and towels are included. The cottage has WIFI access as well as a TV and DVD player. An iron and ironing board are available.
There is parking on site for one car per cottage. There is no parking available for a second car on site.
Wheeler Cottage has its own private garden. The cottage shares a dedicated patio area with Lenton Cottage.
The Rectory Lacock is a Grade II listed Victorian building built in 1866. Sitting in 6 acres of private Wiltshire countryside, the Rectory is just a 2 minute leisurely walk from the heart of the medieval National Trust village of Lacock. The two holiday cottages are in the grounds of the Rectory where our guests have the privacy of their own dedicated patio area and a separate private garden, exclusively available to our cottage guests. Each cottage has two bedrooms and all of the facilities that our guests would expect to find in good quality self-catering accommodation.
The beautiful village of Lacock is a firm favourite for film and TV producers due to its notably picturesque streets and historic cottages, all unspoilt by modern alterations. The village has been used as a setting for Downton Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, Cranford and Harry Potter. Very recently, the village has been used for the filming the final Downton Abbey movie in Sep 2018.
The cottages are also ideally suited to people visiting the local area including Bath, Stonehenge, Avebury and Longleat.

We had an excellent stay. Was safe and tidy. Enjoyed walking into the local village for dinner.
Lovely little apartment, very clean and tidy, everything you need for a stay here. Very comfortable bed in main bedroom, not shown on pictures but 2nd bedroom has bunkbeds.
Monty the Rectory Dog, is very friendly, pottering around the grounds and eager for a quick fuss.
Only 2 little things would have made it absolutely perfect, more coat hangers, only 4 in the double bedroom and a small coffee table in the lounge area so you have a place to put your drink when relaxing at the end of the day.

Very clean and well supplied with utensils and basic needs
We had a wonderful time here. The rental was nice and easy to get to. The village of Lacock was picturesque and there is plenty to do for a whole day within walking distance. The Abbey is a beautiful place and if you like Harry Potter a must to see. The location is ideal for getting to Bath or Oxford. Recommend for anyone traveling from abroad. The owners are wonderful and very helpful, even helped washed the car when I ran through a mud puddle. This is a great place to stay.
My family and I very much enjoyed our stay in this clean, comfortable and perfectly appointed cottage. The owners had really thought of everything we might need and it was wonderful to be so close to the centre of the village.
Enjoyed our stay at Wheeler Cottage. It was perfect for just the two of us and only a minutes walk from the beautiful village. Thank you Helen and Wyatt.

Lovely rural cottage minutes from Lacock village
We had a great stay in the cottage and enjoyed the surrounding areas. The cottage was well equipped and Helen was a fantastic host.
Our toddler really enjoyed the rural location and loved the sheep and bunnies on our doorstep! Lacock is just a few minutes walk away and had great pubs, a village shop and most importantly for us a lovely big play park.
We would definitely recommend this cottage for a family stay.

Cosy cottage
Host Helen was very welcoming and friendly. The cottage was perfect for a short stay in the area and was very clean.
The only downside for me was that the cottage is actually close to a very busy road, and the traffic noise kept me awake. This can of course be remedied with ear plugs.

Easter Weekend at The Rectory Lacock.
Booked the rectory as a 2 night stay for the Easter period. Was local to Bath which we intended to visit and other local places of interest. We arrived and found the property clean, tidy and the basics were in place such as toilet rolls, coffee, tea, and sugar- even milk was in the fridge to make a nice tea after a 3 half hour journey- most needed.
The property consists of 2 bedrooms and one room with bunk beds to enable ample accommodation for 2 boys/girls and spacious double room.
The bathroom was spacious and had a choice of bath of shower which was great.
The living room/kitchenette was clean and again more than ample for our requirements.
The only downside was no dvd player and with 2 boys and poor weather would of come in handy but that is only a minor comment.
Helen made the effort to pop and see us on the Saturday and many thanks for checking in to make sure we were happy with everything- Really enjoyed our stay and had the added bonus of a rear door to a tiny garden area to which if the weather was better would of enjoyed.
Plenty of parking and although the property adjoins another let property this did not impose noise etc that sometimes can come with this scenario.
We commented that we would book again later in the year to enjoy the beautiful surrounding areas and also the fact it is 45 minutes away from Bath and other local highlights.
In closing would recommend this as a lovely little property for a long weekend stay to visit the area and found the beds very comfy and the cleanliness was great.
