We love this property. It is our second year back and we are already planning for a 3rd! Plenty of space for everyone, more amenities and improvements since our stay last year. Will keep coming back as long as we are able!
Well pleased with overall condition of property. House is very spacious and has an excellent open floorplan to promote group gathering on main floor, yet provides privacy for individuals/couples on the second and lower floors. If "life in the country" is what you want, the "Jewel of the Woods" will not disappoint.
This home is situated on a beautiful, remote property. The views are outstanding. The layout is great and accommodated our large family group very well. It was not the cleanest property we have stayed at, and the wifi is not very reliable, so keep that in mind if you are planning to work or need internet.
We had no issues with the neighbors. We loved seeing the farm animals across the street daily.
The house is incredibly equipped with everything you need. The grounds and views are beautiful. We enjoyed to close proximity to Highlands and Cashiers, just a short drive to the NC border.
My family and parents had a wonderful stay at Jewel of the Woods. We spent most of our time just visiting and relaxing on the peaceful deck. The mountain air and views was refreshing. The home is clean, very spacious, and had everything we needed.
Beautiful location in the mountains of GA near the NC line. Well stocked house and we even found a gift basket waiting for us. Host was very responsive to every request we made.
Our adult children came together from Virginia, Washington DC and Oklahoma to celebrate Christmas. The house was perfect! The setting was perfect! It was a Christmas to remember!
We had such an amazing time at this property! The views from the back porch are breathtaking. The property is very remote and truly in the woods. However, the commute feels worth it once it opens up to the beautiful Mountain View. Hanging out on the back porch on the patio furniture watch the sun rise or set was the best!
Just beautiful and relaxing. Fall leaves just beginning to turn. But would be beautiful in any season. Spectacular views. The deck looking at sunset was amazing! Fire pit gave it the perfect ambience. And the beds were great. Looking forward to another trip soon.
A beautiful house with a beautiful view too! Very well stocked kitchen and lots of games to play too! The “no airbnb or vrbo” signs posted along the way are a little unsettling and caused a delay in our family arrival, but we understand the owner does not control that. Located about 40 minutes from the nearest grocery store, but a great place to relax and unwind! Overall, a great house!

Wonderful Property and Location
This is a fantastic property and location. The setting is very peaceful, views are dramatic and the home itself is tremendous. We found the house is excellent condition and appointed with every amenity that we could desire. Our original plans had us exploring much of the surrounding areas, but we found the home so enjoyable that we rarely left it during our visit. The owner was very careful to insure that our stay was perfect. We highly recommend this property and will undoubtedly return to visit at the first available opportunity.
Spacious and comfortable home nestled in the North GA mountains just 7 miles from Highlands, NC. Our family of 14 have stayed in homes in TN, NC and GA. This was rated as one of the bed. Spacious deck for those evening family moments. Owner was very responsive and hospitable. Neighbors anti-rental vacationers are to be ignored. Great place with blueberry bushes!
This place was truly a jewel in the woods. Far enough and situated perfectly, once you arrive you are in a fairy tale location far from the modern world.
The owners directions were in fact the most perfect I'd ever received which made the drive easy and predictable.
Once in the cabin, provided you've brought food, there is plenty of equipment to prepare and enjoy.
We could have moved in forever, it was that nice.
Beautiful stay in the mountains. Renata answered all of my questions. Due to my Verizon phone I could not make wifi calls. Others in the party with a different carrier had no issue. It was a great stay. Not too far from the Highlands where the wedding was held! I can’t wait to visit again!!
An absolute wonderful house and property for my family! We had three sets of adults and 6 children ranging from infant to seven years old. All of us enjoyed the house immensely. While the views from the back porch rivaled, if not exceeded other mountain homes we’ve visited, the unique property allowed our children to play outside safely. The home was stocked with the necessities plus more, including the kitchen. When we weren’t cooking on the Green Egg or sitting by a warm fire, we spent time in Highlands NC which was less than 20 minutes away. Overall this house was perfect and would highly recommend!!!
The house is warm and friendly with lots of space. Plenty of cooking utensils and a good sized kitchen. Large family style farm table for serving meals. Spectacular view of the mountains off of the rear decks. We had 8 adults in our party and the spacious kitchen, living room, dining area and outdoor spaces had ample room for all.
The only downside to our stay was when the well water system failed and we had to leave a day early. The owner was very apologetic and is going to refund one days stay.
We highly recommend this mountain house and we would stay there again.
We had an excellent time, thank you. Great views, excellent house with everything you need or want. We really enjoyed our family reunion. The road in was a little confusing the first time in, but easy after that. The signs coming in were a bit much but I can understand moving to the wilderness and then having strangers invading your privacy could be upsetting. All in all we had a great time and would love to come back next year. EXCELLENT ADVENTURE.

Extraordinary property and owner!
This is an awesome property located very close to Highlands! The owner was so gracious and very quick to respond to emails and texts. The property is in excellent condition, has a great view, and very clean. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio looking at the mountains and watching deer come up to the yard to eat blueberries! The owner was kind enough to let us pick some of the blueberries ourselves and they were outstanding! We cooked quite a bit outside on the green egg and watched the fireflies in the yard at night. We would highly recommend this property and hope to have the opportunity to come back and visit soon!
Coming from Richmomd, VA, the drive over was breathtaking. Our family who tagged along were not used to mountain roads and needed anti-nauseous meds for the travel to town and back.
Our gps directions to get to the property were incorrect and got turned around on Three forks trail. There were signs from neighbors saying " not welcome". A kind neighbor pointed us in the right direction and were delighted with the amazing accomodations and views.
We made sure to experience all that the house provided and the nature around us. This house is quite amazing; giving you a choice to unplug and the wifi to keep you connected (or give kids quiet movie time while the adults relax on the balcony).
Our family is definitely going to visit again.
The property was better than pictured and larger than expected. Our family had more than enough room and the beds were super comfortable! Everything we could need was in the home, so even though we did not spend much time there due to obligations in Highlands, we never were lacking in cookware or other things. The back deck was perfect to relax on and the view was stunning. The only thing I was not expecting was the very long gravel road to the property. It is common in the mountains to have gravel drives, but we did have to find alternative parking for one of our vehicles (a sports car) due to the long gravel road. The SUVs had no issue making it to the house, but be prepared and don't bring a low riding car! The stay was just wonderful and very comfortable.
We can not say enough good things about this property! My sister and I rented this home for our 83 year old mother (who happens to be on a walker) on our trip to the mountains. We also had several grown grandkids come stay with us so there were 3 generations staying under one roof. The interior of the home is warm and inviting and made with beautiful wood. We even had a fire in the fireplace during our stay which was so nice. The house has the best layout, the main floor was easy for my mom to access right off the covered carpet area. She could easily get around from her bedroom to the kitchen area and even to the rear porch. I think I spent most of my time out on the covered back porch just staring at the amazing view. The older grandkids spent a lot of time playing ping pong downstairs and roaming the property. This home has so much space to accommodate a large group without feeling crowded. The large kitchen is a great area to gather and cook together. There is ample seating at the island and dining room tables. The location was right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. We went into Highlands to shop, Dillard to eat, and hiked many waterfalls in the area. You will not be disappointed renting this home, bring your whole family.
