Everything about Hillcrest is spectacular! All inclusive is an understatement, from the time you arrive the hosts provide anything you could want. Beautiful mansion and rooms. The host is a superb chef and the breakfast, and her cookies, were delicious! We will return!

Beautiful country estate with fantastic owner. The home is decorated impeccably, including beautiful artwork, rugs, silver and linen napkins. Martha and her family were so warm and welcoming. Fabulous amenities with fresh baked cookies, coffee, right outside our room in the morning.

My wife and I stayed here in May 2025. We loved it, and would definitely stay here again, if we were in the area. The inn itself was great, but Martha (the hostess) was the real highlight of this place. She was very welcoming, and certainly had a servant's heart. The breakfast she made was outstanding. And the cookies were delicious, too! The room we stayed in was very good (including the bathroom), and we loved sitting on the front porch during our first night there. The view of the mountains in the distance was beautiful.

Cozy Getaway in Clifton Forge

We had a wonderful stay at Hillcrest Mansion Inn. It felt like stepping onto a film set worthy of Downton Abbey. The house is beautiful; it was so nice and peaceful to spend time in such a warm and cozy place. Breakfast was phenomenal, Martha is an amazing cook. I felt so pampered the entire weekend we were there. Perfect for those seeking a romantic, out of time, experience. The beds are fantastic which added to our goals for a restful and relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back!

There are not enough words for this property. Absolutely beautiful property. Best in the USA. Amazing host. She made us breakfast so good which I never had in my life. This property is beautiful inside and out with only the finest furnishings in every room. The beds are super comfortable and the owner has not missed any detail in making sure every room is equipped with anything anyone could want. It's a bed and breakfast but feels much more like a high-end country inn overlooking gorgeous Virginia scenery. Hill Crest is charming, full of history and comfortable - all at the same time. The owner/host is an excellent chef and makes incredibly delicious multi-course breakfasts, served by her equally as charming parents. It's food with a show!! The owner knows how to make everything and everyone feel welcome in her home and I would recommend to anyone they stay here. If there was an 11/10 this place would qualify.

It was incredible at the Hillcrest. Martha and her family were so lovely and cared for us immensely. We were lucky to be there for the night when there were no other guests in the mansion, so we had the entire place to ourselves, and all of Martha's incredible hospitality. She whipped us up an incredible three course dinner at a moment's notice, and the breakfast the next morning was divine. We were in no rush and spent a good three or so hours enjoying the breakfast and chatting to her wonderful parents. Then there is the house itself, which was so beautiful and exactly the type of quintessential American place we were looking for as two Brits. Thank you so much to Martha and her parents for the best ever stay, we will always remember it, and we hope to go back one day.

I normally do not rate lodging unless there is an issue that they need to address but this is the exception. I could not recommend Hillcrest any higher. It was a treat to stay, great hostess with gourmet breakfasts. Well worth going out of the way to stay there.

Martha and her family could not have made us more welcome. The house was absolutely stunning and decorated beautifully throughout. The attention to detail was second to none. The breakfast was unlike anything we have ever experienced, a truly unique occasion made even grander by Martha's Mum and Dad waiting on us in full service uniform including white gloves. We only wished we had booked a longer stay, and will definitely be back.
