"This is a lovely hotel, staff were great, food was fabulous. They have an excellent pastry chef. It’s a relaxed hotel in a quiet area. Very handy for travelling by car from Newcastle. One point, some rooms are directly above the function room and there was a wedding on when we were there. They lit fire pits which meant our room quickly filled with the smell of smoke. We had wanted our bedroom window open at night but couldn’t because of the fire pits, even when they moved them round the corner...

"Not much could be improved upon at this beautiful, immaculate, well-organized B&B. Uta was delightful. The room & toilet were lovely, spacious, and wonderfully decorated. The view from our room (and even the toilet!) was one of the grand memories of our trip. Parking was in an enclosed area and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. You won't go wrong here!"

"We had a nice 2 day stay at the hotel. It is a grand old building with lots of character. The room was a nice size with a large bed and bathroom. Breakfast was fine although there was a slight wait for the full Scottish breakfast on the first day as the restaurant was busy although it was freshly cooked when it arrived.
