  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. Encircling the top of the tower are 24 columns with gargoyle-like figures which are restorations of fossil animals.

Nice large home with 3 bedrooms...one has king, one has 2 double bunk beds and one has a queen in basement. 3 levels...kitchen, living room and master bedroom on top floor. Kitchen equipped with most things you'll need to cook. Nice gas stove. Nice smart TV in living room and sliders to outside deck.

We had a great stay at Jungle House Designer Residences. The house was very clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable, with three levels that gave us plenty of room. The two-car garage was a huge plus, especially during the winter months. The home is also centrally located, which made getting around very convenient. There were just a couple of minor things worth mentioning. The host called twice to check in and also sent multiple messages, including one encouraging us to extend our stay at a discounted rate. While well-intentioned, it felt a bit excessive. Additionally, there is a required choice between purchasing a $59 rental insurance policy or allowing a $300 hold on your credit card. I chose the hold option, and it was released a couple of days later, but there was noticeable pressure to opt for the insurance. That said, the positives far outweigh the negatives. Overall, this was a fantastic stay, and I would absolutely recommend Jungle House Designer Residences. A solid 5-star experience.

We enjoyed our stay, the house had plenty of space and was clean, and very comfortable. It was like being at home away from home. Our host was great and very accommodating. Our experience was overall great. Definitely would recommend. Just dont park in front use the garage the police will ticket you.
