We have stayed at La Avenida several times over the years. It is conveniently located and reasonably priced for Coronado. We were sad to hear that the property has been sold and will close PERMANENTLY at the end of August.

Clean and Friendly

This is the second time staying at La Avenida Inn. It is a clean friendly no frills motel perfectly located on Coronado Island. I am a marathon swimmer who also kayaks for other swimmers when swimming around the island. If I were coming on vacation I might spend a little more for a hotel with a few more amenities but La Avenida suits my purposes fine. Most importantly the beds are comfy and the staff is very friendly. Also, all the fun stuff on the island is within walking distance.

Excellent location and good clean pool. But the room has outdated furniture, a tiny TV, no normal clothes hangers (maybe 3 or 4, the ones they give you for free from Dry cleaners), a small refrigerator without a freezer with a temperature higher than 42, and no coffee maker or microwave. Very uncomfortable setup. The room is a good size for all of it.

The location was excellent. It was in walking distance to a lot of restaurants. We had three kids with us and were placed on the second floor with no elevator. We are strong and managed but when the key had to be reprogrammed EVERY day it became frustrating. The front desk employee stated it was policy that the key had to be reprogrammed daily. Another nuisance was the fact that in order to get our car on property we had to pull over a busy sidewalk and move a couple of parking cones out of the way. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked but the room was run down. Bath tub wouldn’t plug up to hold water. Toilet ran constantly. We stayed four nights and housekeeping NEVER entered our room to empty trash, refresh towels or restock toilet paper. The pool was clean.

Great location for the price. Hotel Del was just across the street. Lots of great restaurants with in walking distance. It's a motel but one of the nicer ones I have stayed in. Staff was friendly and very accommodating.
