"Beautiful building and great atmosphere, the staff, from the front desk to the valet were very nice, the restaurant/bar had great atmosphere and good food and service. So why just 4 stars? Well, it doesn’t have amenities, but that I knew, what I didn’t know is the poor outside insulation… you hear the street noise all night long and to top that, there was an event that was horrible till about 11 pm… While I liked a lot of things I will not return."

I had an issue with my remote control and the front desk had somebody up there in 5 minutes to fix it. Walking distance to very many restaurants and the convention center. Very clean rooms and and comfortable beds. Affordable. Easy parking."

"Nico checked us in when we arrived, he was friendly and helpful. Location is perfect to get around anywhere in the Sacramento downtown area. Walking or driving distance. Safe area and clean hotel. We’ve stayed there before and will stay there again when in the area. "

"The Sterling Hotel was a great little historical place to stay. The room (Dukes Sweet) was very spacious and clean. We only stayed for one night and everything was great for our stay. Very private but I believe that’s the way the Hotel is designed. Minimal staff. "
