"The room I was given was not as described or pictured on the website, it was a blank white box. As far from boutique as you could imagine. If you want a romantic boutique experience, in my opinion, this is not it. If you’re only bothered about location then this will be fine for you. "

"Room was spotless, fellow roomies were polite & friendly. The dinners were excellent with the big pints of Heineken, the toilet & shower were very spacious which really helped. The staff at reception were really helpful. It's the second time I have stayed at Hotel Give & I'll stay there again when I come back to Christchurch unless I decide to stay with friends. The Hotel has everything you need & is right beside the botanical gardens."

"The room was good, but the reception wasn't. I arrived at 2 o'clock, the check-in time, and was informed by the receptionist that my room wasn't ready. "You are welcome to sit there and wait until it's ready." 'Why is it not ready? ' "Because they are still cleaning it." "Why wasn't it cleaned on time?" "Oh, there is a staff shortage. I had never arrived at a good hotel and was told my room wasn't ready. And I don't usually book a $ 500-a-night hotel! I paid about half that price for the previous hotel, and it was very good. I also acknowledged the next two receptionists, who, when I told them what had happened, did their best to make up for the first experience. "
