Comfortable family home with ample space and a gorgeous view of the water.
The location is between a shopping area and the Cabot Trail. Lots of linens and a dishwasher.
We really enjoyed our stay.
This property was exactly what we were looking for. Stunning views and far away from the hustle of city life.
The house was quaint and enough room for seven of us. There is no central air conditioning, just a heat pump on the first floor but opening the windows to the ocean air as Todd suggested was more than sufficient to cool the rooms down in the night.
Todd, the owner, was great and always answered our questions quickly.
I would recommend staying here if you want to get away from the craziness that is life, wake up to stunning sunrises and experience the beautiful feeling that is "East Coast Lifestyle"
Great location with an amazing view of the ocean . House is accurately depicted with everything you need for a short or long-term stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

This house needs some work. The bathroom floor seems like it is about to give way and you may find yourself on the floor in the kitchen. The Heat Pump was not functioning correctly so for a place that boasts to have AC it was not ideal to stay there in July when the average temp is 30. There are 2 spots on the deck that I had to tell my kids to stay away from for fear they would fall thru.
Todd’s property was perfect for our stay, to visit for a family wedding. Our party included 6 adults & 2 children (staggered over the stay) comfortably. It was very clean & all essential amenities included. Todd was very responsive with any booking or stay related questions. A word of caution for families with young children, you might want to come prepared with a baby gate as the stairs were quite steep. This country nestled property had great views of the ocean & the costal trail + added bonus of fireflies at night.

I wont rente again.
Smell and presence of humidity. Only one toilet UPSTAIRS. Floor in the toilet to be repaired. I wouldn't use the bath to wash. The toilet needs to be redone. No place to make a fire outside. Noisy. The ad says there was a SPA and there was none. Lots of spiders in the house.
Responsive owner, good base for exploration of the area.
People need to realize that this is an old house; the owner has done much to update the kitchen, added amenities and updated appliances. We had 5 adults sharing one bathroom, which was tricky, but we managed. We had a terrific time doing some genealogy, driving the Cabot trail, visiting Halifax, the Glenora Distillery and the Lake Ainsley region. We got immediate responses from Todd for our questions. He suggested visiting the Red Shoe for some local entertainment, which was also one of our highlights. Mostly our weather was rainy, but one night the sky was clear. The view of the night sky from the deck was the brightest we've ever seen. On the way to the house we also stopped at Hopewell, on the Bay of Fundy. The beauty of Nova Scotia and the welcoming friendliness of the people are it's best assets.

Not what we expected
This property did not meet the usual VRBO standards. This is the first time we have been so disappointed in a VRBO property. This is a very old property that still needs lots of TLC. It was very hot and the upstairs was unbearable for sleeping. There are many maintenance items that have not been addressed. The sunsets were beautiful but that is the most positive thing I can say about this property.
Overall it was okay. Not bad, not extraordinary. It did the job. We had a place to stay, sleep, eat and shower. So why only 3 stars? Mostly the cleaning. We had to wash all the plates, the glasses and cutlery before using them because we found some with food on them. Same thing for the towels. We had to wash them before using them because we try to use them the first night and some were full of hair (we think dog hair based on the quantity - disgusting). To add, the washer was smelly, so we had to do 2 tub cleans before washing something. Nothing Todd, the owner, could have done at that exact moment to help us but still, upgrading the cleaning game would help a lot!Positive point, Todd was quick to resolve a problem with the shower and kitchen drains. Within 24 hours, it was resolved! To sum up, yes a good place to stay but not a 5 stars place!

Not accurately represented
Highly disappointed with this misrepresented rather dirty, disorganized rental. Some would call it disgusting. Not at all what was expected. So distressing that we booked the next three nights at a local motel. Doesn't VRBO do a quality inspection before listing the property? First time VRBO let us down, but the owner was very responsible in that he quickly refunded the three nights we did not stay there of our four night booking. We had no choice but to stay the first night as we could not find alternative lodging.

We had a nice family getaway. Walked, biked and ran up and down the trail. Went swimming at the beach, went to the Red Shoe for some live music, went to a nice beach in Port Hood. Read a book, watched the sunset, cooked some nice food, played some family games. Had a nice holiday there! Thanx Todd!
A cozy and comfortable place in Creignish; conveniently located right along the Cabot Trail. This house was our home base while we day-tripped to the many beautiful beaches, trails, restaurants, shops and Ceilidhs of Cape Breton. It had everything we needed for our one week stay.
Todd was very responsive to all of our questions about the area and his dear Mom even baked us scrumptious Cape Breton Oatcake cookies!!
A real east coast gem!
We had a wonderful stay. The views are spectacular, the beach across the highway a bit challenging to get to but worth it, and the location a short drive to Hood, Mabou and Inverness beaches! We will be back!
Me and my buddies stayed for 3 nights and had a great time there, one thing to note is that as the owner says in the description it is a very old place, so treat it with care!
I’d stay here again
We had a great trip staying at the MacEachern house.
The house was very clean with a Cape Breton rustic feel. The front deck was very well used, as in the morning we could watch the whales. With four bedrooms, a full kitchen, and new heat pump, the house had everything we needed to be very comfortable. I would recommend this house if you plan on having an extended stay in Cape Breton with friends and family.

Beautiful location conveniant to town and good beaches. Did Cabot Trail in one day trip.
Property also close to golf at Cabot Links although did not play on this trip. Kitchen well stocked with all needed. A/C worked well in very hot weather while we were there. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

The view is spectacular!! The house is old but the updates were good!
Todd was not around but responded quickly when I messaged him.
Great for beach combing, a Little hard getting down to the water but found a whale vertebrate and sea glaas.
