"Had a lovely stay at this property. We stayed in the family room at the top of the house which was very light and airy. Comfortable beds, lovely large bathroom which wasn’t en suite but just across the landing. As our room is the only one on that floor this wasn’t an issue for us. We were warmly greeted in arrival by Catherine and met James the following morning. Really lovely people and James made us a super full English breakfast comprised of local, excellent quality food. Can recommend Ammonite thoroughly."

"We booked in for 4 nights to attend my son's wedding as it was local to the venue. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable and the food was amazing. If we are back in England, we would definitely stay here again. It's a beautiful hidden gem."

"We needed somewhere to stay with our dog and this limits your choices. However, the Golden Fleece was very clean, good supply of refreshments in the room, shower was powerful and hot water plentiful. They even supplied a fan to cool the room, although it wasn't great, it shows a level of care and consideration for guests and was appreciated. The owners we met were friendly and I would definitely consider staying again if we visit the area again. Only negative is they need to remove the cobwebs from the exterior light, which to be fair to them you can't really see during the day, only at night, when they really don't visit the rooms. Other than that the room was well appointed, and mostly importantly clean, plenty of parking and a good expanse of grass for the dog to do what they need to do. Highly recommend if you want a pleasant stay at a very reasonable price. Many thanks to Gregg & Hollie, from Chris & Fiona :)"

"A really lovely property to stay in - felt very homely. Other lodges on the estate and they all are looked after and the area is also quiet. As this lodge is privately owned, you can contact the owners directly if you have any questions, queries or problems. Swimming pool on-site which you booked for 40mins, therefore having the pool to yourself. Local pub a 4 min walk away and a Golf Club a 5 min drive away, both served really good food. Chard and Crewekerne are a 5/6 mile drive away, other places to visit vary from a 30min drive up. A place to go to do as much or as little as you wish."

"Quaint accommodation, convenient for some lovely walks and day trips, including Bridport and the Jurassic coast. Instructions were great as we arrived in the dark but had no trouble finding the shepherds hut. Thank you. "
