You can definitely tell this is an older property but it was nice, the owner was working the desk and was very pleasant and professional. It was nice staying at a place that felt like a family owned hotel - I was driving along old Route 66 and this added to the trip. The property was clean and some of my fellow inhabitants were some of the most interesting that I met on my trip, interesting in a good way - nice people who stopped to talk and wished you well on your journey. If I find myself in Cuba, MO again I will book another night at this Econolodge.
First of all you have limited options in this area and this was good for our desires. The owner was always pleasant and helpful. The breakfast bar was adequate for us. It was great we could park right at the door to our room and overall it was a comfortable room.
Only negative I had was the dead bug on the wall in my kids room.
Stayed here overnight on way through to the east, right after dodging tornado warnings. Good port in the storm. Comfy room, dog-friendly without extra charge. Helpfulness of management was great. Left our IPad there. It was turned in and over serveral days we were able to arrange with manager Mr. Patel to go the extra mile to make sure it was mailed back to us and he did follow up to make sure it arrived.
You get what you pay for - no frills, no chocolates on your pillow, but for the very reasonable price the room was VERY clean. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was limited but as advertised, it was just a continental breakfast, again no frills but all we needed was a good nights sleep. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for economical, clean, quiet room.
We needed a cheap nights stay on our way home from Ohio. Econo was clean and the room was spacious, breakfast was so/so and the bed wasnt very comfortable but it worked for us and our pup for one night.
Econo could use updated bath towels and softer mattresses.

Pushy Faculty
The faculty was very pushy about upgrading our room and wouldn't let it go. We were also woken up at 9:00am both mornings to tell us to put our towels outside our door. On our last morning there, we were called again around 10:00am to tell us that we needed to leave as soon as possible and that check out time was coming up.
the room was clean, but the check-in took forever. The lady, who was the manager/owner took over 12 minutes to check my family in, and I had pre-purchased the room through hotels.com. Getting to the room it was clean and basic, but the heater sounded like it was going to explode every time it ran, the small refrigerator made a constant grinding noise, just made for a long night and we were only in the room for less than 8 hours. The hotel listing says it has a breakfast, but that is a huge overstatement. There were no muffins, fruit, donuts, etc. There was stale cereal, one english muffin (I have a family of 5), little debbie honey buns, and a waffle maker. Picked this hotel because we needed a place to stay during a quick road trip, it accomplished the goal but for the money, i would pick another place the next time.
Exceeded my expectations very clean newly remodeled staff very nice ............................................................................

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Stayed here while attending a concert in Steelville, booked it 4 hours in advance on the highway.
Motel (doors are all facing the parking spots, all one level) was very clean and very tidy; showed signs of amateur repairs: ceiling had been patched, but not repainted, door jamb paint was a totally differrnt color. Service was good. Another improvement could have been a little thicker bed spread or extra blanket - but not a big deal. A good, clean, reasonably priced motel.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Needs some maintenance.
Bathroom door would not close. It was neither good nor bad. My request for a receipt was refused.
Comfortable hotel with easy access from interstate
We booked two rooms for one night and our guests from overseas were very impressed with the hotel and it's amenities. Complimentry breakfast is very basic but this is expected from budget motels which was very comfortable is all other aspects. There a few decent eating places in the immediate vicinity. Definitely a repeat.

Have realistic excpectations.
Staff was friendly and parking was well lit. The hotel is an older hotel and was not very busy on a Friday night. The room was initially cold (55-60) but understandable as all rooms exit to the outside and they save by not leaving the heat up in vacant rooms. We turned the heat up and went to dinner, the room temperature was fine when we returned. Tv had more channels than some hotels I have stayed in from major cities. The room was dated but was comfortable and I new what I was getting. It was perfect for a place to crash for the evening before hitting the road again without having to pay a $100/night.
