Nestled within the Sangre de Cristo Mountains Bear Lake is 10,500 ft in elevation. Not far from the beautiful little town of Cuchara, CO
I missed sunrise by a few hours this day, but the was still there early enough to catch some interesting blues on the shaded side of the peak. Though not one of Colorado's 58 Peaks over 14,000 feet, West Spanish Peak enjoys a great deal of prominence from its surroundings, making the 13,631 foot mountain the 12th most prominent in Colorado. It is also the easternmost 4000 meter peak in the United States. Here you can also get a good view of one of the over 500 radiating dikes that lead to the mountain. #BVSquad #BVSBlue
