The floorplan of my room was unique with the bathroom, closet and refrigerator/microwave area at a 60degree angle from the rest of the room, as one enters the room. It made the room feel very cosy. The free parking was a plus and I also liked the fact that the hotel is built on a slope so the entrance level winds up being either the 2nd or 3rd level down the hall. I felt safe in what turned out to be an upper level room and my car was safe the entire time I was there.
I loved the Texas-shaped rotating waffle iron available for use during breakfast. (I wish La Quinta would sell them or tell their customers where they obtained them so customers could get them as souvenirs. I would buy one.) I loved the constant convenient provision of ice cold lemon or cucumber water in the lobby. I filled up my cup several times during the day. Last but not least the location is very convenient. It is close to Presbyterian hospital, Trader Joes, Whole Foods etc.
