PET POLICY:
The owner accepts well-behaved canine visitors, although a pet fee will apply. In addition, the property manager must approve all pet requests. Your dog must be over one year old, not be aggressive towards people or other pets, be house trained, will not get up on the furniture, and is ok with being left alone when you are away from the cottage (e.g., no incessant barking or destructive behavior). We also ask that you be a responsible pet owner when the dog is outside, that there will be no signs that your pet was in the property when you depart, and that you will be responsible for any damage and/or extra cleaning caused by your dog. Non-refundable pet fee - $125 for one pet and $175 for two pets.
The Neighborhood:
And what a location! After just a two minute walk, you can be at the beach. The Equestrian Center offers beach rides, and is a 5 minute golf cart away.

1) Daufuskie Rental Group makes a good faith effort to describe island amenities, including restaurants and pools. However, please note that we are not responsible for the availability of amenities that we do not operate and that are beyond our control. Please contact the vendors directly for rates, days and hours of operation.
2) Your rental agreement contract's cancellation policy states that we are not responsible for events that are beyond our control, such as hurricanes. We strongly encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance, and especially recommend "cancel for any reason" policies. (These must be purchased shortly after your reservation is made.)
3) Please note that because the Melrose Resort is in transition, our Melrose guests may notice a certain level of deterioration in the resort-owned buildings but will also see that renovation efforts are now underway. Our vacation cottages are in well-maintained areas and continue to be extremely popular.

Daufuskie Rental Group is here to help you with the logistics of booking your passenger only ferry/water taxi, ground transportation shuttle from the dock to your rental, and golf cart rental? (Fees Apply) The Daufuskie Rental Group team live on the island and will be available 24/7 for any questions or concerns you may have during your stay. We strive to make the Daufuskie experience a stress-free and enjoyable adventure.
Other Things to Note:
NOTE: It is necessary to take a passenger only ferry to Daufuskie Island. We can help you with logistics by providing options for renting a golf cart, booking ground transportation and ferry reservations. Fees Apply.
Note: This cottage is a duplex, but is completely separate from the next door unit with total soundproofing and no shared spaces (including the porches) with the next door cottage. Daufuskie Rental Group also manages the next door cottage, the Daufuskie Escape Cottage, and large families may want to consider renting both these units (which are decorated in very similar fashion) for their Daufuskie get-togethers.
Well-behaved canine family members are welcome, but must be adult dogs, housetrained, must stay off of furniture, not be incessant barkers, and must be friendly towards humans and other dogs. Upon departure, the vacation home should look as though no pet had been in it, including removal of pet hair. There is a pet fee of $125 for one dog, and $175 for two dogs.
