Perry's Ocean Edge Resort

2/10 Terrible

"The room was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom had a strong smell of mold, there were mold spots on the ceiling. The front door to the hotel room doesn't close, you have to make sure you pull it shut hard - otherwise your belongings are open to the public. There were not one, not two but THREE GIANT ROACHES in the room throughout the night. I called the front desk to ask if they had a bug problem and the woman was not helpful at all. She was very rude and did not attempt to help us with any issues or try to move our room. This was for my mothers 60th birthday, I asked if they had any kind of special things that they do and they flat out told me no on that as well. I wanted to have balloons placed in the room before we got to the room, we were told no. The pool area was a mess, trash was scattered around the pool. This was a very sad experience, and I wouldn't even think of returning."

"The price quoted was great. The check-in was slow and performed with little sense of urgency. The room was very clean as was the path to the room including the lobby area and halls. The breakfast was very nice. The breakfast was served :20 minutes late on the second morning of my stay. The front desk person frantically stocked the food items but, was unable to start the toaster. No hot food was available in the time we had for breakfast. Having to work that morning it was most inconvenient. We did not have drinks at the upstairs bar as we had been there twice before and experienced dirty tables and poor/slow service even being one of the only few patrons there. When attempting to checkout at the front desk the person behind the front desk was engaged in a conversation and failed to recognize me as I attempted to get information on where she may want the wrist band keys. "

"Everything and everyone was very nice. Michelle at the front hostess area Clinton at the indoor bar and I’m sorry I forgot her name but the young lady as the hostess at the restaurant, maybe her name was Haylee but spelled differently. All were very warm and friendly and knowledgeable."

"The hotel room was lovely, comfortable beds. Shower did not have a door and the bathroom door didn't stay closed unless you locked it, awkward for our 8 year old diabetic since we don't allow him to lock the door for safety reasons. The restaurant in the hotel served our son regular pop after specifying twice, not the servers fault but it was a big problem for us that the machine lines were crossed. I'm also not quite sure what the "exclusive VIP" part of getting a room there is because we had to pay parking, no breakfast included, qns there was a private pool but all decent hotels on Daytona beach have that.. no private setup on the beach or anything. For the price, it's middling in my opinion. Nothing special, but the room was clean, beds comfortable and the ocean view was obviously good as it's on the beach."
