So much to do and see. Two days wasn't enough. Getting out the truck and exploring on foot was exciting. Never knew what to expect round next corner. Check if roads are open before setting off. Lots closed due to flood damage on our trip.

This is my second trip to Death Valley. I travel to all the national parks and rank this in my favorites. Nature is harsh but being prepared helps. Explore early before 10:00, stay on paths, take more water than you need, take salty foods.

It's hot in July no doubt! But if you go out early and do some hiking you'll be just fine. Come in mid morning and take a break in the pool. Go out in the evening to watch the sunset from many points. Great experience

Death valley was like nothing else I've ever experienced. When we were leaving we could drive for awhile without seeing another call. Cell service is so spotty. Carry a couple gallons of water at all times.

Death Valley is great to explore. We loved the early morning hikes into Golden and Mosaic Canyons and the sunsets views at Dante's View.

Good
Good time of the year to go is now (Feb 2024 or March 2024) since the reappearance of ancient Lake Manly to the south of the lodging in Furnace Creek makes seeing this strange sight of a wide and shallow lake in dry Death Valley well worth it.

Absolutely stunning. Exceeded our expectations. Lot's of different walks to explore the park, and you can get off the beaten track. We visited in winter so we didn't have to contend with heat, but it did get dark (and cold) early.

Already planning our return to Death Valley... amazing geology and wonderful wildflowers when we visited!
"The park listed the restaurant hours as open until 9pm. We arrived at 8:17pm and the only restaurant was closed. The hotel manager overheard and had the kitchen grab us a few to-go plates!! Absolutely caring people. Our room was in the middle of a large group of teenagers from England that were in and out of rooms and running past our room all night, so didn’t sleep much. Room was clean and comfortable at least! "
"Quiet, clean, safe, and OUTSTANDING restaurant. We stayed in the older "Motel" part of the facility and had some plumbing issues, that were modestly addressed.
Overall, I will stay there again and would recommend it to my friends."
"A truly unique and fantastic stay. Limited amenities, but it does have a microwave and fridge for guest use, as well as more history and charm than one can imagine without experiencing it. "
