One day, the notifications will stop. Your viral post will disappear, somewhere in the huge pile, of viral posts. You’ll be opening one app, after the other. Checking each e-mail inbox, you ever created. Looking for any sign of contact, in the form of likes, or even dislikes. Panic. Suffocation. Restlessness. Slowly, comes the realization, that everyone left. They moved on, got out of the virtual cloud, and embraced the real lives. No one misses you, no one cares. You don’t even exist. You’ve been left behind, scrolling through Facebook, amused by the retweets, choosing emoticons, for the next snapchat. Talking to yourself, in a delusion, that they’re listening. But everyone’s gone. To a world, that’s far from yours. Leaving you in a place, that used to be over-crowded. Scary is it? So, close those tabs. Leave the screen for a while. Pick up something else – a book, a paint brush, a ball, a cat, a whisk, a chessboard, a pen, a baby, a conversation. You can’t run out of options. There are too many. Go. Connect. For real. Because one day, the notifications will stop.
