"Loved the cookies and popcorn . Also loved the social areas where we could sit and visit with our friends. The breakfast was delicious with many choices. Loved the towels and toiletries in the bathroom. Loved the two sinks. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony. The room was spacious and comfortable. Lighting could be a bit brighter in the bedroom area ."

"Gorgeous historic charm—the perfect place to disconnect!We had a wonderful stay! The historic farmhouse charm, eclectic art, and stunning grounds (lake, trails, and fire pit) made for a perfect getaway. The hosts thought of everything, including a first-morning breakfast, and gave us total privacy.Quick tips for future travelers:Arrival: Use the owner's written directions. GPS alone can get confusing.Tech: Cell service is spotty and Wi-Fi is weak. Skip streaming and enjoy the provided DVDs.Beds: Modern mattresses sit on historic rope frames. Some beds are squeaky, which may impact light sleepers.Light: Windows have no blinds. Privacy is guaranteed by the remote location, but expect to wake up with the sun.Coffee: It is a traditional electric percolator (no filters needed). It makes a great cup once you figure it out!Highly recommended for anyone looking to unplug and reconnect!"

Secluded Log Cabin on 300 Acres Near the Heart of Amish Country Ohio

"This lodge was so well organized and decorated. It felt like a home and not a vacation rental. All the furniture was very practical and comfortable but looked very nice. The whole place is decorated with cool art( you might even spot some made by the host, Doug) and other great decor. There were ceiling fans in all bedrooms. One of the cleanest rentals we have seen! We have Verizon cell service and we're on SOS or barely a hint of one bar while there. The Wi-Fi at the lodge was more than enough. We plan to bring walkie talkies next time to keep in contact with our whole party while we are on different parts of the property. Download the offline maps on your GPS, it helps. The lack of cell service wouldn't keep us from coming again, just plan accordingly. There is also a landline at the lodge if needed! There is a great outside fire pit where we roasted marshmallows for s'mores. The wood that was provided was more than enough for our needs. I think you can request more for a fee if needed. The fishing, hiking and swimming lakes are just a short 2-4 minute drive from the lodge. We found live bait at the Marathon gas station in Stone Creek! We enjoyed a little flat bottom aluminum boat (bring your rowing arms), rustic paddle boats, kayak, canoe, tetherball, swings and stocked fish. The breakfast items waiting for us were such a nice surprise! Plenty of starter supplies ( TP, and soap). We can't wait to stay again! Hosts were great!! Great views were enjoyed!"
