I would say the hotel is nice and everything but the customer service is not the best. We had an issue with no hot water my eight year-old showered and only had hot water for a minute. Had to finish with an ice cold shower which she cried the whole time about.. and we were promised compensation after had to move our family of 5 at 10pm at night which isn't ideal with 3 kids.. We didn't receive and have yet to hear from the GM after emailing him directly. I think this is poor customer service on their end and for that I give it a low rating. When you go somewhere and something like this happens, I think it's fair to feel that there should be action taken right away. It shouldn't take over a week to have someone follow up with you.

Our room smelled like pizza when we first got into it. There were multiple surfaces in the room that had smears and grime. The bed seemed clean so we went ahead and stayed in it because we were so tired and didn’t want to deal with getting another room. Any other night this would have been unacceptable.

Nice front desk staff. Large room. King-size bed was comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was good, although I had to run the water quite a while before it became hot. Having a kitchen was very helpful. I appreciated the full-size refrigerator and the dishes in the cupboards. The TV in the living area would not connect to the Internet so I could not watch Netflix there, but the TV in the bedroom was fine. The breakfast had some really nice choices, more than typical. There were some signs of wear in the hotel room, but nothing that would keep me from staying there again. Great location for walking to downtown events, restaurants, and bars.

Shower has minimal water pressure, faucet was dirty. Bed comfortable, studio room was excellent and great lay-out. Parking cost $20 extra which should be included and was an extra not reported add on. Check in front staff had her face completely white with make-up which I gound odd. When checking out, the staff wanted to swipe my credit card again for " incidental charges" , which I didn't have. I refused and told them I paid in advance for the room, alreay had my card swiped during check in for extra suprise parking fees. Not a good experience this hotel.

Great room, great location, great price!

We were in town for the IMT marathon. For 4 years we stayed at a different hotel, but they were booked solid. So we picked this one instead. We are very glad we did. This hotel was much better and closer to the downtown areas we use. We will be staying here more in the future!

We came for the bike riding and were pleasantly surprised that they’re developing the trails all the way throughout Des Moines. We did three days of bike rides and we think about coming again every year. Those bike trails are the kind of things that would make us wanna live here

Hard to beat this hotel for the location and cost. We've stayed here multiple times, and it's within walking distance to most of the nightlife. Clean, plenty of parking, and the rooms are big.
