"While the host was very nice and helpful, the place certainly needs heavy renovation in every respect (worn-out furniture, lose fittings, broken parts here and there, etc.). The online pictures are deceiving as the reality looks quite different. The price which we paid is by no means justified for this motel."

"The hotel is located on a point 5 minutes from the Fort of Louisburg. Each room had its own entrance and was beautifully decorated. We had dinner in the restaurant which also had entertainment. The waiters looked familiar and had Scottish accents. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. There was lots of parking and we could see the Fort of Louisburg from our window. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we ever came back."

"A motel reminiscent of the 1960's. Classic and clean. If you expect modern, it isn't this cute place. Lisa W. at the front desk is wonderful. The dining room served piping hot good food and the staff were good. Parking is at your door. We felt safe and comfortable. It took us a bit to figure out the heating and cooling but once we did, it was good."

"A wonderful historic hotel full of old-world charm, beautiful artwork, and genuine hospitality. I chose the Royal Hotel based on its excellent Google reviews and the owners' thoughtful responses, and it did not disappoint—I enjoyed my stay so much that I've already booked another night for next week. Baby Rango the toy poodle and Billy Bean the Siamese cat are absolutely adorable, and Carmen is as warm, colourful, and memorable as the hotel itself."

"The restaurant was not open when we arrived so I can not rate it. It was open at check out and there were a number of people dining there."

"Did not know that there were so many stairs to get to and from the bachelor apt., However Hosts were there at the time we arrived to check on things and graciously helped us up the stairs with our bags ! We really appreciated their friendliness and kindness after a long day . The oatmeal cookies that were left for us as a special treat were fantastic and waking up to a beautiful view with Canada geese on the lawn by the lake was amazing!"
