"Very clean. Helpful staff. Great hot breakfast. Definitely staying there again if I am in Carbondale."

"Cleanest hotel I’ve ever been in. Hotel breakfast was clean, hot, and so good compared to other hotels. The lady at the front desk (blond hair) was SO NICE!"

"We came to visit our son at SIU and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was nice, clean, and very affordable. The breakfast was great, with lots of options. There's a bar right next to the hotel, which was nice, and a couple of restaurants nearby. The area felt safe and had a good amount of activity. Overall, a really good place to stay when visiting SIU!"

"Close to our venue. Nice enough to get some rest for a busy weekend."

"The 1st room I was given the AC unit would not plug into the outlet. The 2nd room I was given had roaches nesting behind the hair dryer plug. The 3rd room I was given had what looked like live fleas on bathroom floor. I then ask for refund. Pretty sad!"

"Makanda inn is a very well maintained place. The room was very comfortable, and the staff was excellent. The breakfasts were delicious."

"When first walking into the room the air was stale as the air unit had been kept completely off, but once turned on it wasn’t noticeable anymore. The room was very dated and definitely needed a facelift. However it was kept very clean with comfortable bedding. If I needed to stay overnight in this town again I would choose here."

"High quality room, with farm privacy and atmosphere. We would recommend it and stay there again. Only one thing: The ladder to the loft bedroom is quite steep. My wife struggled a bit with it. But then, she is in her late 60's. Nevertheless, a good place that we will recommend. A/C worked well, and was needed. Room very clean. We hardly saw staff, which was fine, as we enjoyed our privacy."

"It was perfect for what we had planned. Definitely will be back. Thank you for supplying so much. The only thing we didn’t have was aluminum foil, but you had some really cool bowls that I fix some mushrooms and onions and a baked potato to go with our steaks. We had everything else and if we didn’t, you had everything else there beautiful place thank you CJ"

"This was a well-maintained, super cute cabin. The bed was comfy! The set up was great and everything we needed was provided. Would definately stay again!"

"The pond did not look like it did in the picture and it was a disgusting color and did not have a beach walk in area. There was also a bug in the refrigerator and on the floor by the refrigerator and then another bug by the garbage can and there was dog food from previous people that wasn’t picked up also thought it was ridiculous at 830 in the morning there was a mowing crew outside that was woken up to on my vacation and I took pictures of it "

"Great experience, perfect spot for our staff working an event at Apple Creek! Host was great and excellent communication. Will stay again next time we are down to Apple Creek."

"Another wonderful stay at this cabin. Quick responses from host, clean place with all the amenities you’d need. Air conditioning worked great. Great location for hiking or exploring the wine trail. Hidden, yet super easy access to highway."

"Eric left a note They really liked it"

"Perfect cabin for two. Private, last cabin on the road. Deer every night in the surrounding fields. Peacocks roaming the fields from the private barn you pass on the way in. We had a small issue with the tv remote. We sent a text and it was resolved quickly. Very close to Giant City park which is a must see. Might have to come back. Thank you for a wonderful few days"
