"Hotel Gringo Perdido was a truly great place to stay during our 3-day trip to Tikal and other historical sites. The asphalted road leading to the entrance of HGP is probably the best road in the area as it was recently poured and a second pouring is scheduled soon. The HGP staff were very welcoming and informed us of the complimentary breakfast as well as the complimentary dinner. "This property is in the park and so you can get to the entrance by 6am when they open. The grounds are lovely as you are in the tropical forest. The first night we were there we heard howler monkeys close by and saw a Toucan (wild) and many birds. "Nice basic and clean mini apartment. Bathroom is cramped and TV does not work well. Your room door opens to a busy street but things quiet down by 11 pm."

"Beautiful hotel on the shore of a beautiful lake. Facilities are excellent, comfortable, even too perfect. Staff is super friendly and will help all your needs. My daughters (8 and 10) ranked it in their top 3 hotels they have visited because they had so much fun, especially in the lake and pool. Very recommended."

"So fun to stay so close to Tikal- you need to buy your entrance tickets before you arrive. Its a very simple walk to the park entrance. The bunglaow was adorable. It was very hot, a bit hard to sleep but worth it for the experience "
