Dating to 1892 this tower was used to store water for the barracks as well as other base buildings at Fort Tompkins. The base was in use from the early 1800's until being decommissioned in 1955.

Two abandoned paper mills located along the Black River which drains into Lake Ontario. Both mills date to 1901.
