Staff was pretty bad, rude, abrupt would anticipate our questions wrongly. Hotel advertised parking but it was full and we had to park about 1km away not terrible but annoying. I would not stay again. Certainly not worth the price.

Overall a very good hotel. Excellent location. Very good breakfast. The only questionable experience was at check-out when the lady at the reception argued that I couldn't add my parking fee to the hotel bill. I was told otherwise when I checked in and after I insisted she added parking to the invoice and I didn't have to deal with the parking pay station. This situation was an exception, all other members of the staff that we dealt with was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this hotel.

Good location to access many sites we were interested in. WONDERFUL breakfast buffet! The only real negative was the late nighttime noise from a bar downstairs from the hotel. The noise inteferred with us going to sleep at least 2 nights. We should have asked to be moved to another room, but that would have also been inconvenient to have to move. Overall, good hotel.

The hotel rooms are very very worn out and old, no service by the hotel staff at all. Make note there is no luggage assistance so when you travel with many luggages or with elderlies, do not stay here.

Nice enough Hilton hotel in a great location right in the heart of the old town. Rooms are usual Hilton quality but the air con could be better. Decent pool and spa complex. Breakfast is poor with a limited choice of food. There are plenty of places to eat nearby so an room only booking is recommended. Hotel is let down by the attitude of some staff members. Also although both my and my friend's bookings included executive lounge access we were both told it did not. We both had to show our booking e-mails to prove it. Make sure you bring yours.

Sad rooms need updating -not worth it

Tired rooms and nothing like one would expect a deluxe king room to be. Turns out the deluxe designation, as compared with standard king room, is free minibar, which isn’t stocked with much at all. Not a bigger or better room, but free water and peanuts. The bathroom was still a tub with a shower curtain and hand wand, not a shower. Looked straight from 1985. The only good thing going for the hotel is the location, which is superb. I really regret not booking the Steigenberger Hotel — also a superb location, I just thought the Hilton would be more modern but I was wrong. I was very disappointed.

The Big Ripoff: The Shining

We came for a family vacation on the way from Berlin (parents and a daughter). We reserved a family room for 3 for which we were charged twice the cost of an ordinary double room for 2. What we got was a slightly bigger corner room with an extra bed, not two rooms as we expected, though the cost was that of two rooms. But this is just the beginning: a week before arrival, we got an email from the hotel telling us that our daughter can only get an inferior breakfast (no omelet no salmon) unless we pay extra 26 euroes for her breakfast, though we paid the equivalent of breakfast for four.... When we actually came for breakfast, we had to wait in line for 15 minutes to be ushered in.... Finally, I wanted to take a dip in the pool, and was told this will be 3 euro per person, and mind you, we already paid almost 350$ for three people in one room!!! The location of the property is great in the center of Dresden. The hotel is big and especially the corridors reminded us of the movie THE SHINING. The point is that after we were overcharged, this greedy pettiness about the breakfast with the long line, and finally the 3 euro for the pool took away any sense of pleasure from being at this hotel.
