Unplug at this charming creekside cottage less than 25 minutes from Floyd, VA, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the New River, Hillsville Flea Market and Yoga Jam. Private and set in nature, the two bedroom/one bath newly renovated home is close to local music venues, hiking at Rock Castle Gorge, biking the New River Trail, river sports, fishing and sightseeing,

With a short drive from Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, Charlotte, and central Virginia, you can experience a charming corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This updated guest house sits on a 250 acre farm, the grounds of Foggy Ridge Cider, formerly an award winning hard cider producer and now a cider apple orchard providing cider apples to cideries across the south.

The Garden House is also close to Olde Mill Golf Course and Primland, a premier golf and resort location. On the property, you can relax sitting on the new deck with gas grill overlooking Rock House Creek or strolling on the farm. This spot is ideal for a couples get-way, a family vacation or a girls weekend.

The Garden House is a short drive from historic Floyd, VA, home of the Friday Night Jamboree, as well as Olde Mill and Primland Golf Resort. Activities include biking on the Blue Ridge Parkway and New River Trail, hiking in Rock Castle Gorge or on nearby Buffalo Mountain, water sports on the New River, artisan craft studios and riding beautiful country roads.

No pets or smoking please. Verizon is the most available cell service in this rural area though other providers work as well. Internet connectivity is available through a hot spot on your phone. Ideal for a quiet TV-free get away! Note that the pine-paneled second floor twin-bed bedroom is in a recently renovated attic space with steep stairs, pictured in the property photos.

Labor weekend

This is our favorite place to stay when we go to the Floyd Yoga Festival. This last stay was our 3rd time. It’s a great way to leave your daily troubles at home.

Beautiful idyllic setting. The cottage was spotless and well appointed. The hummingbird feeder on the porch provided entertainment. We enjoyed the garden and it’s bounty; fresh dill and goat cheese omelet for breakfast, fresh picked tomato sandwiches for dinner! A bit of a drive to “civilization “......perfect.

Wonderful country get-away

The Garden House was nicely decorated and furnished. We saw a turkey from the front porch one evening, and deer from the side deck another evening. We enjoyed both the on-property hikes and the hike on nearby Buffalo Mountain, and seeing the apple orchards in bloom. The wildflowers on Buffalo Mountain were amazing at this time of year; there were hundreds of trillium. We are looking forward to coming back in the fall to see the leaves change and the apples ripen!

Down home cottage

The cottage was very nice and comfortable. After reading the book about the farm's cider, we were looking forward to a cider tasting. We were disappointed to learn that was no longer done. The book left in the cottage should be updated.

I thought about hotel rental in the area closer to town but this cabin caught my eye. It was everythingvpromised and more. Thecout side picture does not do the inside justice. Spotlessly clean, everything you could think of that you might need and a besutiful wuiet setting. The drive into town sounded long but upon thinking it was shorter thsn my daily commute to work. Definately a place tonrecommend

Best break from the busy buzz of life!

The beautiful location of this cottage next to a small stream and off the beaten path make it an ideal holiday spot. It felt like time slowed down in the best possible way! It exceeded our expectations. We spent our mornings and evenings on either the side porch for our meals or on the front porch when the rain moved into the area. It was incredibly restful and I wouldn't change anything about it. The hosts were also terrific and a delight to work with during our stay! I'd give both the location and the hosts my highest recommendation. I'm hopeful we have another opportunity to return to the cottage.

Quite, small, not very good for hiking, could not enjoy the creek for the weeds. Was told to haul my on trash to a dumpster somewhere in the county. Host was pretty much non involved. Will not return.

The garden house was adorable! We loved the simplicity and quietness of it all! Wonderful place!!

My husband, 4 month old and I visited this past weekend and had such a wonderful time. It was exactly the weekend getaway we were wanting. The house is charming and it has all you would ever need! We brought our own food and cooked everything there at the house. There are local restaurants but we wanted to stay put! We spent the first day hiking around the farm and enjoying their complimentary cider tasting. We also visited Mabry Mill which was super close and enjoyed a picnic lunch there. We didn't get to meet Diane but we did catch Chuck on his way to open up the hoop house. They did a great job having the house ready for us. Our trip was too short! Hoping to make it back in the spring to see the apples! I would highly recommend this house!

Sweet and homey but not cleaned well

We loved the feel of this country cabin. The bedding and other linens were all good, carpets vacuumed, and furniture dusted but there were cobwebs in the corners with healthy spiders, dust on baseboards and dirt around the toilet base and bathroom floor corners. Just looked like a more complete vacuuming was needed and a spray of home defense around the baseboards, windows and doors would have made the place more comfortable. The decorating was sweet and thoughtful.

Wasn’t able to get in the house when I got there lucky a Renter from up the street had the same code we then we were able to get get in, I received a not from the owner appoligizeing for the inconvenience and said she sent me an email with the code on it, but I never received the first email, I did get one from verbo but no code! I would think if I didn’t respond to her on the first email that should send off an alarm,
