Harbour Studio (Dunedin)

Beautiful Harbour Studio located in Vauxhall on the water front, one of the best locations in Dunedin, looking out over the magnificent day/night views of the city lights, harbour and the Forsyth Barr Stadium sitting in the background

Only 5 minutes’ drive to town or ride/walk on the purpose built cycle lane and walk way that takes you into the city or carry on down the bay for an adventure.

This self-contained Studio room is a separate dwelling that has been built below a 1940's art deco house so it comes with great characteristics, privacy and your own deck with nice outdoor table to relax and soak the all-day sun and views, this is really a unique location.

The owner also owns a Bike Hire business, each person booking accommodation is entitled to 20% Discount code

The studio room has a king size bed, dining table and bathroom (shower/toilet).

There is a fold out bed available for a child or an extra guest, this would be laid out on the floor.

We enjoyed a nights stay at the Harbour Studio. Fantastic views of the harbour, lovely and clean and had great amenities. Bed was comfortable and the host was very accomodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, we will be back 👍

Small studio in a great location

Cost apartment. Beautiful views and close to the CBD. We parked in the yacht club parking lot because the driveway was so steep and a bit challenging. Overall good stay.

Lovely Studio Stay Overlooking the Bay

This was a great place to stay while recovering from travel from the US, prior to going on a South Island road trip. The view of the bay was phenomenal, as was the location. Studio was clean, well furnished, nice amenities, and as described/pictured. Highly recommend.

Great location!

Location was awesome! Great to have snacks and coffee. The washer/dryer combo was also a great feature. The drive is incredibly steep so we parked across the street

Yes the view is that stunning

Tiny but perfect for two very enjoyable nights. The bed was so comfortable with wonderful bed linen. The view is spectacular and to top of it all off a Nespresso machine so we could sit and enjoy that view sipping fresh coffee.

Lovely stay. Studio had eveythingwe needed and was such a nice retreat to come back to with amazing views. Amazing wildlife around Dunedin!! Studio was warm and sunny. Bed could do with an upgrade soon :) Thanks for the stay.

Perfect for us

Great location, handy to town but remote enough to be a world away. Lovely outlook over the harbour. Compact but just about spacious enough for 2 with all that we needed for a comfortable few days away. Nice welcome pack and good communication. Overall a lovely little apartment, thanks for a great stay.

Great stay

I was lucky to hit a couple of nice winter days in Dunedin and had excellent view of the sun setting over the city. The place is close to the city if you have a car or a bike. I didn't have to turn on the AC for heating until the last couple of days and it made the place cosy very quickly. Excellent stay for a solo traveler that eats most of their meals in cafes and restaurants.

Incredible view

We enjoyed our stay at this unique location. The view was outstanding and we were very comfortable here. The steep driveway is not for everyone, but our vehicle was small and we’re good at using mirrors to reverse. Hey, this town boasts the steepest street in the world! We navigated it alright.The location is a quick drive to the central part of Dunedin, the St Clair Hot Salt Pool, and Lamarck Castle. A lovely drive to the end of the peninsula to see the albatross and penguins, too.

Great property, location and view. Best for a short stay

This is a great property in a good location just a short way from town and a wonderful view over the bay. Could have been a little cleaner(a few cobwebs) . It is pretty small but has most of what you need for a short stay( no storage). Kitchenette works ok but really needs a counter top. We didn’t use the drive as it is very steep and you have to reverse back down. Easy parking is just over the road.

The space had lovely views and was in a good location. The driveway was very steep and difficult to drive up. The room was nicely decorated however the kitchen area was cramped. Satisfactory for a couple of nights.

Amazing view but a few concerns.

Hi, this is the best view we've ever had, and there is ALWAYS something happening in the water, whether it's dragon boating, kayaking, swimming or SUPing. And the bed was comfortable. BUT the driveway is incredibly steep (you park at that angle too) and the toilet needs to be replaced. Would recommend, but with some reservations.

Best Staycation Experience!

Outstanding view, even the wet windy weather of Dunedin could not put a damper on this experience. I was forewarned about the steep slope but after living in hilly Dunedin for a couple years, it's fairly straightforward – it helps that the slope is also tarred and smooth. Efficient food delivery around town made up for the lack of kitchen in the unit. Harbour Studio is really perfect as a short getaway from the city within the city. ❤️

Lovely short stay

Pros.. Very quiet when we were there. Lovely views, no need to get out of bed ! Close to town, 4min drive. Lovely walk / bike around the waters edge for 15 k Cons. No drawers to put anything in No wardrobes Live out of your suitcase. Toilet was in with where you store kitchen pots and wash up. No extractor fan in that area.small opening window. Very little / no work surface to prep food. So nice place, we did manage to cook, but difficult.

Beware the driveway

This is a small, clean studio with a lovely view.. no surprises there. The view is presumably the reason fir the price. Nothing else is particularly special. The driveway is steep and the parking is just adequate. We hike, sail, ski and are no strangers to tricky driving but the driveway at this property would present a challenge to many drivers and would be unusable in icy conditions. We used a chock to be sure the car stayed put at top of driveway. We had to chase access details and then the # was left off the entry pin provided which left us unable to gain entry until the neighbours turned up. Process needs a bit of polishing.

Apart from the view, everything is disgusting, the shower is disgusting, the bed is uncomfortable, and the kitchenette is a collection of appliances on an old dresser. Really not recommended room!
