Great location and views. But, fix the kitchen fan, bathroom fan and shower door. Twin room would benefit from some little bedside lights.

Kleine flat op top locatie!
The apartment was very clean and located at an excellent location (bedroom views on the castle!). Walking into the old town is easy, and lots of nice shops and places to eat and drink nearby. It's a top floor walk up, so not ideal if you're traveling with small children (or a buggy!) and a bit small for 5 people.

Nice flat when you eventually get in
Lock box was faulty, phoned for assistance, condescend to by assistant who said we were not operating correctly. To late for person to assist in person, after some time on phone she eventually admitted and told us we had to hold catch down with a pen or coin and hey presto it opened.
Shame we did get provided with this information in the beginning in stead of standing out side in the freezing cold.
The flat is 60 steps up this should have been at top of the booking information not suitable for older people. Dont be put off by the dirty stairs, the flat was clean, the heating worked as did the shower, clean bedding and towels ,nice welcome box. Great location. All would have been better with realistic explanation regarding stairs and lock box.
Good location. Confusing door instructions. Stairwell needs to be cleaned. You should tell potential clients that it is 60 stairs to the top, tough with all the luggage.
Easy contactless check in, large updated kitchen, lots of charm and period detail. Great location to walk to Royal Mile and all attractions in a peaceful neighborhood.
Where to begin.. property description highly inaccurate.. 60 steps to reach this top floor flat and no elevator not mentioned.. common outdoor area was full of junk and overgrown.. used term "recently renovated" for a flat with a broken shower door, a problemattic water heater, many burnt out lights, mildewed countertops, and ceiling fixtures coming loose from the ceiling.
The flat lacked cleanliness: the kitchen flr was stained, the wooden kitchen sink countertop was mildew stained, dust bunnies abounded on the woodwork and door tops (hung a clothes hanger on the central closet door top and got covered in dust). The laundry rack was in the back of the central closet and was a nightmare to get through all the maintenance junk stored there.
During our 1st night, we reported to Altido Scotland (AS) the flat needed more lighting for our 3 reading adult family members. A one Edison bulb ceiling light and an upcast floor lamp was only provided for the living room. One of 2 lamps in the main bedroom was broken. Said light was not replaced by AS until the last night of our 5 night stay, despite my calling most days.
On our 2nd afternoon, hot water cutoff. We called immediately, but were told no one would fix it until 10 am the next day (he came at 11 am). Why can a repairman not be on call at earlier hrs, especially since guests expect to start their day when Edinbugh opens at 11 am?
For all the above, I was given a 20% discount. I'd have rather stayed elsewhere! Poor service AS!

Frustrating
This apartment was in an excellent location with a wonderful view. Unfortunately, the bathroom fan was as loud as a helicopter and would take about an hour to stop running after the switch was turned off. The chairs in the living room were dirty and covered with stains. The check-in process was unorganized and complicated - no one contacted us ahead of our check-in time. I appreciate that we could easily get a hold of the management, but the follow through was not sufficient.
Our 3 day stay included watching fireworks out the windows of this VRBO. We were nice and close to Edinburgh Castle, great restaurants and other interesting sights. With the Tattoo in full swing it was nice to see all the activity going on close by.
The main areas of the apartment were large enough for 4 adults, although one bedroom was quite small. The washer was a welcome sight as we had not seen our luggage for the 2 weeks we visited the UK. Collateral damage of the airline debacle!
The apartment was clean and had all the necessities. The stairwell leading to our fourth floor unit left a lot to be desired. There was no light which made getting up four floors difficult. Also the stairwell itself from the ground floor on up were quite dirty . It would only take a few minutes once a week to sweep out the garbage and dust that had accumulated. Suffice to say once inside the unit we were pleased and had a comfortable stay.
Our stay started off poorly when we arrived to find the unit was not cleaned. Unfortunately, our luggage had been lost by the airline so we needed to clean up and wash our clothes. Problem is that the washer had broken and we were not notified. We were asked to wait a few hours for the unit to be cleaned. The management company was difficult to work with and did not do much to compensate us for the delay and broken washer.
The unit itself was in a great part of town just a 5-minute walk to the center of old town.
What a wonderful stay we had. The room was beautiful with views of the castle and a great location. We were able to find our way around the city with ease. Would highly recommend this spot! VRBO was quick with responses each time and this was greatly appreciated!
It was well situated and well managed. There were nicities that were appreciated but not expected (shampoo, heated towel racks, etc), added touches that showed management was concerned to make the stay enjoyable for the guests.
Great Location, Small 4th Floor Walk Up, Terrible Communication
Check in was a mess. I emailed the property manager the day before we were to arrive. I got a email back saying I would get an email within 24 hours. But we were already with in that 24 hours. I emailed again and got a lock box code. When we arrived the property had 5 lock boxes on the front. They were not labeled. I tried ever lock with no luck. I called and started to panic. We were able to get someone on the line and they were able to tell us which box and how to get it.
The location is great. The flat is small but that is to be expected, however in the room with the twin beds you could not have 2 people moving about the room at the same time.
It was fine but i would not stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location and view of the castle was great! All the supplies we needed were waiting there for us which is super helpful! I would recommend having some information about closest markets and good pubs for future guests. Also, make sure the listing is for only #8 as there is a resident in #7 and that was confusing when we arrived.
