The Marshpad, surrounded by nature, mins to beach in gated community
Come enjoy low county, SC living at it finest on Edisto Island for your stay. This spacious 2600 sq foot house that was built in 2022. With 4 beds 3 1/2 baths it is in one of the best neighborhoods on Edisto island. The Hammocks, just mins from Beach, you are sure to enjoy bird watching with marsh in front and back of house, listen to the waves crashing just a few hundred yards away or just enjoy the huge live oaks and abundance of palm trees from 800 sqft of porches. The space Walking up the stairs from underneath the house you walk into the kitchen/living room. There is a very large granite countertop with seating for 3. Also in kitchen is a built in convection oven, dishwasher, side by side fridge and a gorgeous farmhouse sink. Toward front of the house is a dining table that will seat 8. Across the room is a couch and loveseat with antique lobster trap for a coffee table. Walking toward the back of house passing a half-bath is a butler’s pantry with a smaller fridge for extra space. Then walking into the first of 2 master suites, there is a king bed. There is a seperate french door entrance to the porch along with tv with dish network. Into the first master Bath there is a shower, tub and double vanity with toilet room. Walking up stairs you will find a multi Cade Video game across from a small futon on loft leading to the outside upper porch. Also on second floor there are 3 bedrooms. One bedroom has bunk beds that will sleep 4 kids if you use the pull out trundle. There is also a toddler bed in this room to use as needed. Additionally, There is a mattress in master closet upstairs that you can put on the floor if you have someone that may fall off or if you need an additional bed. Another bedroom has two twin beds and the last one is the second master that has two full beds and tv. A bathroom with shower and double vanity is connected. Another full bath with tub is upstairs for use by other 2 bedroom occupants. There is also a futon mattress in the upstairs master closet that can be put in the loft as needed extra sleeping space. Home has a whole house RO system for clean salt free water. There is a bedswing on the front porch. You will find plenty of seating and a tv on the side porch, but with the views of the scenery from the porch you won’t be watching much tv-outside anyway.
There is a gas grill and corn hole boards under house as well as a fire pit by the marsh. You will find a toy box under the house that has a few toys that can be used as desired for fun in the sand. Additionally right inside the door leading to the kitchen you should see boogie boards to also use as desired at the beach. I have 3 kayaks that can be used also 2-10ft’s and 1 child 8ft. You will find the paddles and life jackets in storage room. There is a community dock you can walk to or drop off kayaks to on the creek that goes all the way to ocean. I have had dolphins swim up to me in creek. Please do not park at dock. Please note: if you use the kayaks be careful. When you rent the house you are releasing me of any liability of using the kayaks or anything else around the house. Even though we don’t have direct beach access, we do have a small view of the ocean from the front porch. We have provided state park passes for 2 vehicles to get your family into the state park free of charge. If you ever walk down to Jeremy inlet from the state park, about half way through the walk, you can look to the left and see the upper section of house from. There is a cleaning fee of $300 that will automatically be added as we are providing all towels, cloths and Linens. They have to be washed and cleaned every time. I reserve the right to change the price anytime if the costs change to me, but of course when you book, the cleaning fee is locked in.
I do allow up to 2 canine pets(possibly more with approval) but they must be clean, house broken, non shedding and friendly. Pets can not stay outside due to hoa. Pet fee required You will be responsible for any damage Guest access Whole house Other things to note I stride very hard to make a worry free, safe, relaxing stay for you. There is plenty of essentials like towels, toilet paper, pods for dishwasher, detergent, dryer sheets on hand. The kitchen is fully stocked with all you will need. There is mattress protectors on beds along with sheets and comforters. There is pillows on hand but if you are like me you may want to bring your own. There is also plenty of towels and washcloths. Ideally the idea is just bring your personal belongings, clothes, your preference on soap and shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, beach towels, toys, and enjoy your stay.
There is also a ironing board, and iron on hand
Safety concerns- If you have children, or anyone for that matter please watch and do not climb on rails. The house is very high and there is rails everywhere, I am not responsible if something happens. The front steps can get a little slick if they are wet. Generally though you will be using the steps that come up through middle of house.
There’s a 10pm noice ordinance for neighborhood so no partying, music and so forth outside after 10pm- Be considerate! Also please don’t leave lights on under house when not in use. They are very bright and I try not to disturb the wildlife anymore then I have to.

Host is a great communicator, house was clean, beautiful and fully stocked. The twin bed porch swing was my favorite spot in the house. This house was a step above most rentals because there was so much entertainment for the children & teens.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was the most equipped of any rental I have ever stayed in. The scenery amd wildlife was beautiful, we even saw an eagle! Communication with the owner was top notch. Wr will definitely return!
What a delight to pull into such a lovely property. So much room, and beautifully decorated. The Hammocks is a true gem on Edisto Island and Marshpad is a crowning jewel.
My family and I enjoyed staying at Marshpad. Great location for my grandsons to fish at the community dock. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We spent most of our time on the porch. There was always a nice breeze and we were surprised that there was not an issue with mosquitos. We will be returning.
We couldn’t be happier with our time at Danny’s place. The space worked well for our crew. The views, the kayaking, the open floor plan. We loved it.Be sure to be aware of the fact that you do have to drive to the beach.
We loved staying here! There was always plenty to do, including hiking, kayaking, and biking.
The house had everything we needed to make it a great trip. The beach at the state park is about a ten minute drive. You won’t regret staying here. It’s beautiful with wildlife and scenery galore. The host is very responsive too.
We had a wonderful week here. The drive in is so beautiful and peaceful, we were so happy how intact the natural surroundings were. The house itself exceeded the photographs. It is spacious and bright and had all that two families needed to make memorable meals and memories. Bird watching on the pond from the porch was heavenly. We made use of each of the two nearby docks for kayaks and the paddleboards that we brought down. Only a 10 minute paddle out to the ocean beach (make sure to check tides and winds before embarking). Adults and kids were all happy and would joyfully return.
Communication with this owner was amazing and clear with quick responses. Upon arriving at the house the house was clean and well appointed with all the things you could possibly need for vacation. Everything from pots and pans to kayaks. This in itself made our arrival much less stressful. The house is perfectly situated only Minutes from the beach but in its gated community feels like it’s miles from civilization (in a good way). On my morning walks through the Sandy roads I would barely see another human yet it was only a 5 to 7 minute drive to the beach at the State Park. The neighborhood was also great for bike rides and walking the dogs. This was quite wonderful as our stay was the week of July 4 So we could experience the excitement of the beach and retreat to the peace and quiet of the environment around the home.
Danny the owner was great to work with. Very communicative. My wife and son and I were Hurricane Helen evacuees from Augusta, GA and he got us in quick with no hassle and was very sympathetic to our situation. House was great and had access to a boat ramp to launch the kayaks but we never did because there is also great crabbing and fishing within the gated community.
Going to the beach is a breeze too thanks to the two state park passes that come with the rental. Using the public beach access stations along the main drag can be a hassle sometimes due to the lack of parking or crowded beach space. Not at the State Park. We parked our buts right on the edge near Coots and hung out all day with plenty of room to lay out, fish, drink beer and go to Coots to eat.
For us The Marshpad was the perfect location with the perfect amenities and perfect owner. We will be back.
Thanks again Danny!
P.S. Danny, we still don't have phones or internet at the office or house so I'm at my buddies office next door that does have internet so I apologize for the late review.
Our family had a wonderful stay at the Marshpad! Perfect space for our big family!! As long as you don’t mind a short drive to the beach, this place is great for large groups.
