The location was secluded yet conveniently located to Yellowstone and Gardner. The property had everything we needed. The views from were spectacular. Or group ranged in she from 18 to 80, and we all found things to do and enjoy on the property. We hope to come back again.
Pictures don’t do this property justice. The home is so much bigger and roomier than it appears in pictures. There 14 of us ranging from 10 years to 75 years and each and everyone of us was comfortable. The home has everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, lots of things for entertainment. It is close to Yellowstone park and other area attractions.
Matt the property owner is amazing. He helped us out and was always readily available and responsive. My son forgot his AirPods at the property and Matt went and looked for them and mailed them to us.
The property location is perfect. It has beautiful views all around and the deck and bridge on the creek is my favorite. We loved lighting the fire pit at night and enjoying under the stars.
We were a family of 14, including 8 grandkids ages 4-23. We were looking for a large rural property for our family and Lion’s Ledge provided exactly that.
This property is located in a beautiful location high in the foothills of the Gallatin Mountains above the Yellowstone River.
The property was immaculate and provided every amenity we were looking for. I would say you need to be comfortable with wildlife and taxidermy to stay here, which our family certainly is.
The house is full of wildlife mounts from around the world which in our opinion added to the ruggedness and beauty of the house but it likely would not fit everyone’s taste.
Our Host was very easy to communicate with and helpful in every way. We enjoyed our time spent at Lion’s Ledge and would not hesitate to stay there again.
From the beautiful views of mountains to the perfectly decorated interior, this place has it all. I have never been to a cabin that was so well maintained and kept completely stocked with everything you might need. Thanks for a great family vacation place 2025!!!
Absolutely amazing house and host for our family vacation! Everything was ready when we arrived and it was so nice that things were provided which we didn’t think about like bear spray. Host provided the best communication we’ve ever had with booking a vacation home which we greatly appreciated. It was so fun to see animals every day just grazing or walking through the area. Thank you!
WHOA. There were 11 of us and we all absolutely loved the house. Outstanding location, 30 minutes from the north entrance. Matt was awesome; such a nice guy. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed and the great room was amazing. We all want to come back and I hope we do. Incredible place, can’t recommend highly enough.
This property exceeded our expectations! It was beautiful and private, super clean and had everything you needed. Very well stocked! We loved every minute!
Wow….Best Cabin Ever! The cabin was beautifully decorated, plenty of space for a large family; everything you could need has been provided. Host was amazing! Great communication, from booking and through out our stay. Easy drive to Yellowstone. Lots of animals around the property and a big yard for kids to run, play and explore. Spend your evening around the fire pit with amazing views of the stars!
This was by far an outstanding experience in every regard. The owner was responsive and most helpful and the lodge was meticulously kept - everything we needed, and more. Thank you Matthew for a exceptional stay.

Outstanding Stay
Spent a far too short time at this wonderful property. If you like to be off the beaten track, this is your ticket. Matt & Dianne were wonderful hosts and offered up many suggestions on activities in the area. I would highly recommend Lions Ledge and look forward to returning some day (soon!).

Excellent accommodation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay just outside of Yellowstone. Lions Ledge is very well located for the north entrance and is an easy ride in. The lodge is very large for a one bedroom and its remoteness is part of the charm. It is well stocked with most everything you could want. We would have no problem recommending this guest house to others visiting the area.
8 of us travelled from across the US for a family reunion and could not have been happier with the house. Everything was perfect! Lots of space, well stocked kitchen, wonderful views and outdoor seating, helpful information from the host, a 10 out of 10. We will hopefully return in the future, Matt and his house are both terrific.

Incredible home, awesome views.
My wife, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lions Ledge Guest House. Diane was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area enabling us to make the most out of the time we had in the Yellowstone area. The pictures online do not do the home justice and the view from the front porch is nothing short of postcard perfect. With a set of binoculars we were able to see several deer and a herd of elk over the course of several days. You can be inside Yellowstone within a half hour or so making the location great. It’s nice to be away from the hustle and bustle, especially when your attempting to escape big city life for a few days as we were. Stay here, you won’t be disappointed.

5 star hospitality and amenity
We recently stayed with our toddler (17 months old) and had a fantastic vacation. The cabin is perfectly maintained, perfectly equipped with everything we needed in kitchen and bathroom. When there was an issue with kitchen faucet, Diane (who lives next door) quickly fixed it for us while we were away during the day.
When we booked reservation stating that we will be traveling with a toddler, Diane generously got us a high-chair and a Pack n' Play, and my son had a very comfortable stay at the cabin. She even brought a cart full of Duplo LEGO and a small lawn chair for kids. He loved running around inside the cabin and out in the front yard, and we enjoyed spending one afternoon watching him play with bubbles.
The cabin is located 25-30min from the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park and there is a good grocery store in Gardiner. Very little cell phone reception (we had AT&T) and no Wi-Fi, which makes it a great getaway from technology. It's a great sequestered cabin that's good for visiting Yellowstone. We highly recommend this cabin and we really appreciate Diane's hospitality.
House was very well appointed with comfortable furniture, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen in pans, spices, and commodities, The Bar refrigerator provided great space for drinks for adults and kids. Outdoor grill was superb as were the sitting areas outside, Despite the loss of the Tom Miner Creek Bridge, the house remained easy to reach. Local activities are at 15% of normal capacity so we could do everything we desired without fighting crowds or plying for reservations. A great vacation spot with a very supportive host.
Lodge was very clean, kitchen well stocked and the rooms were spaced nicely from one another. There are several levels of bedrooms including main level, upstairs and downstairs. Perfect for all.
A perfect 10 sums it up! Thanks to Matt Klumpp who was an awesome host during our stay. This home is absolutely gorgeous and will accommodate a large group very well. Matt goes beyond expectations to provide what guests might need during their stay, unlike most VRBO properties. His generosity to his guests does not go unnoticed , and should be emphasized if you are considering this property. The location is about 35 minutes from the Gardiner entrance to Yellowstone. Thanks Matt for a great time! we really enjoyed our stay, and please stay in touch.
It will be hard for us to put into words how happy we were staying at the Lion's Ledge. The pictures do not do this place justice. It is 100 times better than we thought it would be. The moment we walked in through the door we were in awe. Everything was bigger, everything was nicer, everything was better than we could have ever imagined. The house was immaculately clean and organized.
The kitchen had all the luxuries and amenities you could dream of. It was extremely well stocked with beautiful dishware and cookware. It had everything we would ever need. You name it, it was in this kitchen. Diane even bought us an electric tea kettle because we had asked if there was a tea kettle.
The great room is huge with extremely comfortable furniture, a big tv, and dining room tables. We all could have just stayed in this room alone and been very comfortable.
The master bedrooms were gorgeous. We had the room with the Posturepedic king sized bed, walk in closet and a huge bathroom with our own washer and dryer. It had direct access through patio doors to a beautiful deck with a great view. We couldn't have been happier. The rest of our family took the other beautiful main floor master and the two upstairs bedrooms. Everyone was more than happy with the room they had. Every bedroom was perfect. There was even another nice bedroom downstairs that we didn't end up using. This place is huge.
The game room is great with the pool table and ping pong table, games for the kids and a great dvd selection for the tv.
There was plenty of comfortable outdoor seating on multiple sides of the house. The walk down to the deck over the creek was a great bonus that we enjoyed multiple times. We were visited by deer on a few days and drove down the road on multiple mornings to see at least 25 grizzly and black bears in the fields. That was one of the best things about our trip.
Perfectly located for Yellowstone National Park. We made multiple trips and saw Elk, Bison, Coyotes, Badgers, Pronghorn, Magpies and Moose.
This was nothing short of our dream vacation in our dream home. Diane was a fantastic host. She met us shortly after we arrived and gave us a quick review of the house. From the second I booked the place to the day we left she was available within minutes if we had any questions. Her knowledge of the area was extremely helpful, and she made several suggestions that made our trip better than it would have been.
BEST VACATION EVER!
Thank you, Diane!!!
This was the absolute perfect place. Inside and out! The comfortable sitting areas, the huge picture windows and the giant bedrooms made for time together and plenty of room for time apart. The kitchen was perfectly supplied, including every spice, plus all the basics and more, and even sharp knives. The grocery store in Emigrant has everything, so no need to stock up before that.
The back porch accommodated our large group for evening chats. A second fridge in the wet bar area held our drinks.
The proximity to Yellowstone made for easy travel, and getting up early paid off in seeing wolves and grizzlies in the park.
This is THE place. Quiet. Huge. Comfortable. Gorgeous.
From the moment we arrived we were in heaven! Matt was the most amazing, attentive and accommodating host - even met us when we checked in to give a tour, complete with suggestions and hints for the property! This cabin will absolutely blow your mind, the listing photos DO NOT do it justice. We loved every inch of the place, especially the kitchen/grill/etc as we are all foodies and this was an important amenity. There were only 7 of us this time but the place could have easily fit twice as many…WiFi was adequate, we barely used the giant TV or the downstairs game room - being able to just be together and enjoy the massive space and fellowship was priceless! Easy access from Bozeman and great proximity to Yellowstone NP. We could have stayed exclusively at cabin with enough provisions and been content to simply hike the property, enjoy sunsets from the back deck or lounge on the many comfy seats inside! Read the guest book while there for more great ideas, listen to the locals esp Matt for best spots to see wildlife and always take along some bear spray!! And so many hummingbirds, close enough to touch, another nice touch!!!!! We are already planning our next visit to this home away from home…best moment was on our last night watching that black bear meander through the back yard, wow! Can’t thank you enough for the most incredible stay of all time!!!
Gorgeous and spacious house! There were 11 of us and we had room to spare! Every little amenity was thought of…coolers, bear spray, sunscreen, toiletries, well stocked kitchen accessories, fishing poles..the list went on and on. The nicest house we ever rented for sure! Only 20 minutes from Yellowstone it was very convenient. The guys were able to fish just a short way down from the house. We enjoyed watching the dozens of hummingbirds outside the windows on the feeders. We didn’t see any wildlife but perhaps we werent there at the correct time of day but we saw plenty in the park! The only things I would suggest adding would be a clothes basket or two and more towels and washcloths. 10 out of 10 for sure!
