"Very long queue for check in. Poorly ventilated room even though we turned heating down and kept the window open while awake. Thin walls so you hear other guests arriving late and leaving early. Bed was comfortable but the bathroom is a joke. Toilet facing a wall so close you will bang your knees. You have to hold the shower attachment if you want to wash anything above your waist. Holes in shower doors same height as shower head so wet floor with no bath mat. Mouldy fake window in bathroom dripping condensation next to toilet. The staff are great as is takeaway from the Italian opposite reception. Not worth the money we paid. Won’t use again."

"I had higher expectations of this hotel based on the reviews. It is fine, dated decor, scratchy linens, and quite large, with very long walks to your room. The listing says the rooms are all soundproofed, but that isn't accurate. I had to be asked to be moved to a quiet room; my first room was quite loud from neighbour noise. I had booked a "deluxe double", which the photos showed with 2 double beds. The room I was given had 1 double and 1 single. No big deal, beyond the noise issue. Booking through hotels.com meant I was to receive a room upgrade, but this was not offered or honoured. My quiet room was a "family room" with 3 beds, which was fine. My bathroom was worn and had mold, but my biggest disappointment was the quality of the sheets and pillowcases, quite scratchy. I had been travelling for 24+ hours and just wanted to collapse into a comfortable bed for 5 hours of sleep. "

"Very good breakfast and a decent diner for evening meals. The rooms are small, but the beds are reasonably comfortable. The only complaint is the top bedding mattress shifts on the bottom support mattress and needs adjustment several times during the stay."

"The location is a big advantage—everything was easy to reach, which made exploring Rome very convenient. Breakfast was also a highlight, with plenty of choices to start the day. The hotel has a classic, old-world charm, but overall it feels a bit tired. The corridor carpets, for example, gave off a slightly dirty feel. I understand preserving the style, but refreshing or deep-cleaning certain areas would make it feel much cleaner without losing its character. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, mainly because of the location and breakfast, but some updates would really improve the experience."
