"Firstly, I rarely review any business good or bad, but Hotel Palmas de Cortez was simply appalling. When checking in, the woman at the front desk would only cut us one key card for the room for 3 people. She said come back tomorrow if you want more. She was incredibly rude. When we got to the room, it was a dump. We had a Presidential suite and it was anything but! It was so run down and disgusting we went back to the front desk and asked for another room. We were subsequently shown room that was covered in more dust, had dead insects on the window sills, stunk of mold and didn't look as if it had been cleaned in months! We eventually stayed in the original room as we had no choice. We went out and bought cleaning products from the local supermarket and cleaned the room ourselves to where it was livable. Housekeeping only made the bed and folded the used towels. I deliberately left dust on one of the sofa arms to see if housekeeping would wipe it off during the 6 nights we were there - it was not! The overall hotel is tired and desperately in need of a facelift and someone who cares about the property. The restaurants on site were terrible however the staff at least were pleasant and helpful. The pool bar doesn't serve food - you have to get takeout! The gym was disgracefully filthy - couldn't use it! We've stayed at many properties in Mexico, some good, some bad, but nothing like this! The website portrays the hotel as something entirely different to reality. Stay away!"

" We've stayed in many VRBOs and this was without a doubt the cleanest and best provisioned place we have ever experienced. The organization and completeness of everything you would need for gourmet cooking, beach going, relaxing, was exceptional. Hot tub and pool in the evenings, (and mornings) was an epic way to end the day. Unfortunately staying here has likely ruined our future stays at other places because they will not compare. "

"We came for lessons at Exotikite in Los Barriles and picked this place for the quiet location. We loved the beautiful ocean view and spectacular sunrises, and being in walking distance to the beach. We swam at the beach in the evenings and loved having it mostly to ourselves. John was very responsive and welcoming, he gave us valuable information and recommendations. The stay felt safe and private and we loved the super quiet dark nights sleeping with open windows, no need for A/C when we were there in February. The place was equipped with all necessities, bedding was nice. For water sports the location was not convenient because the conditions changed often and the drive into town was over 10 minutes, but we still enjoyed our vist and loved staying at this unique place."

"Unexpected extras, beach chairs, lots of beach towels, stocked kitchen with a jug of water, pico de gallo, guacamole & chips. Responsive property manager, great location & neighborhood, nice view & sunrises from the 2 balcony patios. we would definitely stay here again. "
