Our family stayed one night in the private room/bathroom to be close to the airport. The property was clean and conveniently located to the historic downtown. Filipe met us upon arrival and was both punctual and helpful. We would stay here again.

Good value

Good stay, one night, on route to airport. Very kind and helpful staff, clean comfortable room with nice ensuite. Only one minor problem was the stairs as we had two large, heavy cases. Good value and location

Value for money, great location

Very value for money. We had a very large family room (probably the biggest room we have stayed in). Location is fantastic too, very close to everything. Service was great, we arrived at midnight and Filipe was there to check us in with a smile. Facilities: fairly basic bedding, has got a small kitchen with a microwave. Given the low price we pay, we thought this was very good value. Building: the building itself is beautiful!

Little gem

Lovely place with rooms around an open air courtyard. Good location close to the old town. Took me a while to figure out the front door lock. Worked much better when I read the instructions properly!

We had one night stay, the room was cozy but had everything we needed, was clean and quite fresh during the night, we didn’t used the aircon. The host, Felipe super friendly, waited for us for a late check in. The price was fairly cheap considering the location, city centre, full of pubs and clubs.

Not the best but also probably not the worst!

Location was good, room was okay, the bathroom was very smelly - the drain seemed to just smell throughout our stay, fairly unpleasant Quite noisy as well, had people trying to come into our room in the middle of the night which wasn’t ideal! Overall it was okay, an alright bed to sleep in in a good location - fine if you plan to be out and about all day!

First time in Faro and Algarve

Albergaria Formosa is a simple guest house with all the essential facilities. It is conveniently located just off the busy street, and a few minutes walk from the bus and train stations. These is a communal kitchen that all the guests can use to make food. Flippe contacted me for my arrival time and provided me with the entry code for the main entrance access so I could leave my suitcase with the cleaning staff I’m a locked room before check in time. There is a comfortable sitting room where guests can hang out and wait for check in. There is certain charm in staying in a renovated historic building in the middle of Faro.

Great location but very no frills

It's fine. Location is amazing and that is the appeal. Service is minimal and unconventional. It stormed extremely hard the first night we stayed and unfortunated some water leaked into the room from both the ceiling tile and the window; this caused some of my devices to get wet. I notified to property and they didn't even bother to respond. The check-in process isn't ideal but it isn't horrible. The front door code pad is frustrating to say the least. The listing says laundry on-site--it isn't. It's a laundromat 2 doors down on the main road.

Ideal location, a very short walk from loads of restaurants, bars and mini-marts. Room was spacious and clean with a nice shared outdoor area. Filipe was a great host, very polite and helpful. Reccomend for anyone staying in Faro.

Staff was communicative and asked for arrival time in order to be present to check us in, which all went smoothly. The room was simple with 4 twin beds and a small private bathroom. Water, kettle and cups were available in room. Beds were good bedding was very thin. Felt like a hostel. Neighborhood was lovely and walkable. You cannot drive up to the door but it is a very short walk from the road. Accommodation met our needs for one night stay.
