Afon Rhondda Fach The river has come down from the Lluest-wen Reservoir, the dam of which can be seen just below the skyline. A road from the reservoir follows the north bank. In the foreground is Pont Lluest-wen, carrying footpaths but not vehicles across the river.

Near Twyn y Bloedd The map shows the forest as being all conifer. But in this part there are many broad-leaved trees.

Pont Luest-wen The bridge takes various paths across the headwaters of Afon Rhondda Fach downstream of the Lluest-wen Reservoir. In places the road following the north-west bank has had a retaining wall built next to the river.
