St Edmund's church. St Edmund's church is located in Forncett End, about one kilometre west of the other Forncetts - St Mary and St Peter. The small brick building > 853185 - 853198 - 1361021 was erected around 1903/4 as a mission church to Forcnett St Peter & Paul - the foundation stone > 853189 on its north wall gives the opening date as St Peter's Day, 29th June 1904. Its purpose was to serve the settlement at this end of the straggling parish. However, the parish ran out of funds during construction and what was intended to be the chancel arch became the east wall, which remains covered with weatherboarding. The interior is furnished with pine benches and the baptismal font copies the style characteristic for the 14th century. This church is in regular use. It is kept locked but a key is available.
