Newcastle Lodge and Convention Center

8/10 Good
"I’ve stayed here before. This property is the nicest hotel in Newcastle, but it’s starting to show its age. We got a room with just a shower, which wasn’t a big deal for me. Kids like the tub. Quiet area, plenty of parking. Pool area needs attention. Hot tub was out of service for repairs. The pool seemed to be a bit cold for dad. The steps on the ladder in the deep end need to be fixed, as the top step spins upside down."

"We stay here once a year on our way back home. It is secluded and has nice outdoor seating areas that make it feel welcoming and comfortable. The random deer strolling by are a treat too."

"Super calm and quiet location. space perfect for 2 people. Just secluded enough to escape the touristy areas, but central enough to lots of activities without a super long drive. Amy and Paul were both super welcoming and friendly, inviting us over for supper and taking us on a tour of the local scenery! Greetings from the pets was also a bonus! Would definitely book again"

"We had a fantastic stay. We loved the location. We wanted to do deadwood, spearfish and devils tower so it worked out great. It is a nice scenic drive to the cabin and so peaceful to sit in the yard at the end of the day and have some cocktails and relax. The inside of the cabin is very nice and just two of us so lots of room if you have additional people. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking to stay out of a town to enjoy privacy and tranquility"

Rustic Small Cabin in the Black Hills of Wy. Snowmobile right out the drive!

10/10 Excellent
"A beautiful place of sanctuary for me when i needed one, in the middle of my beloved Black Hills, preserved in the Wyoming side, while other parts of the forest have been developed. Reminding me of many wonderful vacations in the 50s staying with my parents in such places. Maybe this one. A SD native like me, host Jennifer provides everything needed and nothing more, a good thing for singles and elders, furnished well with antiques yet all tech ready with internet, tv, kitchen fridge, hot plate, grill. She even jump started my car. See the best part of the Black Hills, minutes from Spearfish Canyon, Bear Butte, Lead Deadwood, Devil’s Tower, if you chose to ever leave the peace of this place. I’ll be back."
