Private Whidbey Island Waterfront Beach Cabin

Enjoy breathtaking views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, the Seattle skyline and the North Cascades from this cozy, two-story beach cabin.

This unique property -- Double Bluff Beach Club -- boasts 200 feet of no-bank waterfront on over three acres of beach. Meander 1/4 mile down a private drive and ascend stone stairs to this piece of paradise perched about the trees.

Soak in summer sun from a gorgeous, custom-built deck, or stroll along a sand and driftwood trail to the water's edge. On an enchanted evening, dine beneath the stars or head down to the fire pit to roast marshmallows, to tell stories and to sing songs around a campfire. Just outside the house is a partially covered patio complete with comfortable furniture, a barbecue grill, a dinner bell, a warm outdoor shower and lots of hooks to hang towels and gear from a memorable day at the beach.

Inside you'll find all the comforts of home coupled with unique Island charm. This top-to-bottom remodel is beautiful, bright, and EVERY room has a view! Curl up on the comfy couch with a good book, play board games around the coffee table or simply kick back, take a nap and relax.

The cabin features gleaming, original 1930's wood floors and a fully stocked kitchen/dining area with granite counter tops, bar stools and all-new stainless steel appliances. The family-friendly living room frames picture windows and just beyond it reside a 3/4 bathroom with a granite vanity, a linen closet and the main floor bedroom with a queen bed, new carpet, a built-in closet and that spectacular view!

Descend the spiral staircase to the bunk room. The kiddos will go crazy over two custom bunk beds and two built-in berths, each with its own storage area and night light. The kids' room is complete with puzzles, games and ample room to play. The lower level also features new carpet, a second bedroom with a queen bed and its own private entrance, and a full bath with an over-sized washer and dryer.

DBBC is located at Double Bluff Beach and County Park, a premier spot for outdoor water sports and activities including fishing, crabbing, clamming, kayaking, kiteboarding, skimboarding and paddleboarding. The cabin is minutes away from grocery shopping in Freeland and the Saturday Bayview Farmer's Market (late Apr-Oct). While you are here, be sure to visit Langley -- South Whidbey's charming, seaside village -- for strolling, shopping, whale watching and dining.

Whidbey Island is a gem, home to magical memories and often referred to as 'the shortest distance to far away.' Many have been inspired and rejuvenated by this place, and year after year they continue to return. Double Bluff Beach Club is no different. We think you will LOVE it here!

Location location location

This has to be one of the most beautiful settings on Whidbey. The weather was gorgeous and we spent most of the time on the stunning deck or walking the large expanse of beach. Double Bluff has everything we needed for a fun gathering of friends.

Amazing views & beach!

This house was perfect for our two families. We had a great time at the beach playing & spent a lot of time on the deck playing games / taking in the views. The access to the property includes a lot of stairs to haul your stuff to the house. Overall we had a great stay.

Spectacular scenery!

This beach cabin is a perfect getaway. There are quite a few stairs up to the cabin, but it is so worth it when you get there. It is a very private setting with a private beach like feel. It is well stocked and decorated perfectly for a beach cabin. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Although the view and proximity to the beach were wonderful, unfortunately the house was infested with mice and had not been properly cleaned of mouse droppings and a dead mouse in a trap prior to out stay.

We had a great time on the beach. The trail meandered from the parking area out to the water. We were disappointed that the propane tank was empty, so no barbecue. The property was as promised.

Awesome property

This was a great place to stay for our Christmas vacation in this strange year. It was comfortable for the whole family. A great spot for dogs, with an off leash beach right outside the door. The view was amazing. It must be fantastic in the summer months with the large inviting deck. The only small negative comment I could make is if you plan to do any significant cooking, bring your equipment. There's lots of bowls and pots and pans, but beyond that it's pretty basic and a few essentials missing like a colander and corkscrew.

Great place.

Great place to getaway and enjoy the beach and views of the water! Family of four with a dog. House was perfect for our weekend getaway. Kids loved the bunk beds downstairs and every room of the house has a awesome view of the water. Dog also loved playing at the off leash park right there! Only things we noticed were a lot of flies when we first got there, but once we swatted them with the fly swatter it wasn’t a big deal. Also noticed some mice droppings inside the cupboards which also didn’t bother us that much. Would absolutely recommend this place to others. We loved the seclusion of the place without being in the boonies! Great place.

Magnificent view! Secluded and cozy...

If you enjoy the islands and the views this place will absolutely not disappoint. The layout, furnishings and decor are all top notch and provide a homey warm experience regardless of the weather. It should be noted that you need to be clear that the views are spectacular because the home sits on a hillside and it’s a considerable hike from parking to the front door. Though the incline has been nicely spaced out it is definitely a 3 story hike so “pack light” unless your training for a marathon. That being said I don’t want to discourage anyone because it is truly worth the climb!

Valentines Birthday Family Getaway 2024

Had a Great Family Getaway to celebrate Valentines & my wife's Birthday with all of our kids, and our grandson. This property gives you an absolute front row view of Useless Bay on Double Bluff that does not disappoint! THINGS TO KNOW IN ADVANCE!!!We loved our stay, but this property, but it may not be the best choice for those with mobility issues! This home is literally perched on Double Bluff which gives you incredible views, but this requires that you climb up 54 stairs from the beach parking area to access the main door (41 for the lower level). And once you are in the home, the narrow spiral staircase is the only way to get between the upper & lower levels inside. This is not a negative review, as it felt like we were staying in a large treehouse, but something you need to consider based on your travel group!Our Host Paul was EXTREMELY helpful, responsive, and timely when we had questions/concerns/requests before and during our stay! Thank You Double Bluff Beach Club!!!

JUST what we needed!!!

We had high hopes for this getaway, and were not at all disappointed! We experienced almost every kind of weather, and we enjoyed it all~ be it walking the beach, hunting shells and rocks in the sunny breeze, watching the rain and wind from the cozy vantage point of the house, or exploring the island, no matter what the weather! You've done a beautiful job with your reno, and yet keep the beach cabin feel with your décor. We were hoping there was a retrospective of "the life of this cabin" for us to read- SO curious. But you had many interesting selections and we enjoyed your Netflix when it rained! The kitchen is a dream, the linens lovely! Our visiting dear friend enjoyed her privacy downstairs, and we all felt pampered, yet rustic! Now that is an accomplishment! Perhaps the only missing element was a fireplace of some kind- but understandably, the space is better used for friends and family! It is a hike up that amazing stone stairway, but worth every step! We would love to come again in summer to enjoy that amazing deck. And thank you for the welcoming wine- a new favorite of ours! A wonderful, restful, restoring stay!

Beautiful location and views

Our family of 6 stayed here for a few days for a large family reunion nearby. The location is absolutely fantastic and we very much enjoyed the views that being up higher provided. The home was overall very clean and comfortable — our kids LOVED the downstairs bunk area. We also appreciated the pet-friendliness as we had to bring along our 8-month old puppy. While he couldn’t go up and down the narrow spiral staircase, it ended up being helpful as it kept him sequestered to the upstairs. We brought his crate and he was good to go. Another wonderful thing — boardgames! Our family ended up learning to play a new fun game (Kingdomino) discovered at the house and we bought it immediately upon returning home. We play it almost everyday now, with the kids home for summer. Two small suggestions for the owner would be to 1) remove the master bedroom bed frame. It’s one of those types that stick out past the mattress. Not only does that extension take away needed real estate to get around the bed to the other side, it’s hazardous too. Our shins couldn’t catch a break the entire stay. A simple bed frame would be eons better. And 2) a Brita filter in the fridge would be nice. As someone who really prefers cold water, waiting for the faucet to get as cold as it could go was the only option. Overall very happy with our stay — thank you!

We're in our 70s and no door code aent to us

We never were sent a door code , couldnt get in, so rented another place :( There was no hot tub outside and no warning of all the steps up!!! Elderly people should be warned of the horriblye haul up!!! A tital waste of our money.

family trip to Whidbey

This was a great little get away. The views were wonderful, low tides provided time for beachcombing and collecting shells and sand dollars, the fire pit was great to watch the sunsets, the house was comfortable for 4 adults, the owner was responsive to our needs, the steps were a little challenging for us in our 70's but we had young family members to carry our groceries and suitcases! Recommend considering this well located home.

Gorgeous view but takes a hike

The beautiful view was as advertised though packing things up to the cabin takes effort. We enjoyed the deck and grilled twice. If you spent much time in the living room, the furniture wasn't comfortable, but having said that, the queen bed upstairs was very comfortable with a nice view of the water as well.
