I had an absolutely amazing time at Nasubi.
The hostel is about a 12 min walk from Fuji station and quite easy to get to. I stayed in a mixed dorm for 3 nights. The beds was SUPER comfortable and cozy, had plenty of privacy, and were very clean. There was also sufficient space for everyone's bags in one corner. The rest of the common areas (fully usable kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, lounging area) were very clean and cozy but spacious. There are a lot of card games, books, drawing pads, video games in the common spaces. Also the atmosphere in the hostel was so peaceful and quiet but everyone was also very friendly. There are convenience stores and supermarkets. Also museums, gardens, Mt. Fuji viewing points around (I walked but you can borrow the bikes they have).
Finally, the owner, Kazu and the rest of the staff (I only got Mako's name, who checked me in, but there was another sweet staff member whose name I forgot to ask) are warm, welcoming, helpful, and so kind.
I would 100% recommend this to anybody!
Great location with view of Mt. Fuji. Easy access to the train station. Very comfortable with relaxing common area with kitchen and laundry. Just like home while in Japan.
This hostel is great with comfortable beds and in a convenient area. The best part of this hostel, though, is the host who is lovely and goes out of his way to be as helpful as possible. Enjoyed my stay completely, and will be back.
Amazing host and guesthouse, enjoy great time there. Very warm and welcoming. You can definitely meet many new friends there. Host is very kind to drive us to fuji station and lend us bikes for riverside cycling. Amazing journey and stay. Room is nice and comfortable.
Traditional Japanese style with familiar atmospher
This hostel is amazing. The stuff is super friendly and kind and helps you whenever you need them. The hostel isn’t anyonym, ihn felt more like staying with family while also having much privacy. The owners were thinking about every little detail a backpacker needs. From washing machine to fully equipped kitchen.
I would love to come back!
It was on a clear day and i woke up to the view of Mt fuji. The host is extremely nice and welcoming. They provide free bike rental which i cycled around to see Mt fuji.
Owner is very kindly!!!!!!!
Only him looking after the guesthouse but everything is still nice and clean.
The beds are big and very comfy.
My friend and I said this guesthouse is the best one after we went to 3 guesthouses.
Rejuvenating time at a very welcoming hostel-house
Very cozy and peaceful place somewhere between a relative’s home and a hostel. We didn’t hike Fuji as we’ve been in Japan for a month now and have done plenty of (far less touristy) hiking, but rather wanted a quiet place with a beautiful view to rejuvenate. Kazu is the proprietor and super friendly. He even gave us a ride to the train station at the end of our stay. We greatly enjoyed the Japanese-style room, back porch, and kitchen (was SO nice to cook in a comfortable and well-stocked space). You can [and should] walk 45 min or bike 15 to the seaside for one of the most breathtaking sunsets of your journey! The hostel was a great place to be social or private. Nothing fancy but a very welcoming environment/special retreat. N64 is an awesome touch, too!
This was an amazing place to stay. It was clean, affordable, and the owner (Kazu) was incredibly accessible, friendly and helpful.
We had initially only planned to stay here for two nights, but we extended our time to four nights because we were enjoying ourselves so much.
Kazu has bikes which you can borrow at no cost, and he has a wealth of knowledge about things going on in the area. We were able to attend a traditional Japanese Tea ceremony, get a tour of a nearby temple, and have a meal with some incredibly friendly locals because of some introductions which Kazu made.
All of this is to say that Kazu seems to work hard to connect guests with things going on nearby, and that worked out very nicely for us.
Other things of note are that the back porch and living room are super comfy, and that the kitchen is clean, large, and well-appointed. Fuji station is a 10 minute walk away, and Shin-Fuji station is perhaps 15-25 minute walk away. Also, Kazu seems to be happy to pick up/drop off guests from the train station, although the walk was pretty pleasant so we did not take advantage of this.
In sum, the place was great, and I would highly recommend it.
we can go to shopping or to have a feed anywhere cos this accommodation has several bikes. Furthermore! you can ask for a ride from/to the Fuji station Free!!! That is really helpful :D
This hostel is a more traditional Japanese style building which was cool to see. The bunk bed mattress is extremely firm. The kitchen facility is well supplied and the host has great recommendations for the area.
The local area has less activities and sights, good for a night or two when passing between Tokyo and Kyoto.
The staff were super sweet and helpful! The man at the desk even recommended a lot of cool places around Fuji to check out including a pretty great yakisoba place. The place was very clean, really convenient and one of the best hostels I've been in. Most definitely coming back when I'm in the Fuji area!
Nice Japanese house with a great view of the mountain. I stayed in the 6 dorm room everyone was friendly using the living room area. The owner speaks good English and is a great person. Thank you so much for my stay!
