"The property is beautiful. The staff was friendly. The property itself is huge and sprawled out - I would not consider it walking friendly.
However, we stayed in a two bedroom cabin which had carpet in it that was really old and gross. There was a heavy mildew/mold smell. There were huge black carpenter ants infesting the cabin. The beds were pretty uncomfortable. The kitchen was very tight and it was difficult to eat in the kitchen and still have room to walk around the table/get into the refrigerator/cook. The cabin was VERY dark. Even with all lights on and all shades open we needed flashlights/battery powered camping lanterns to see anything at all. There is a propane grill at every cabin which is a plus but I wish there were also fire pits to have s'mores/hang out especially since the cabin was so small and tight so hanging out in the cabin was a no go.
The property is under a major renovation as it was just recently purchased by Hilton. Only one small unheated outdoor pool is open right now and it got very crowded mid day but was too cold to use in the late afternoon/evening. The indoor pool is closed. The main outdoor pool area by the general store is totally closed (several pools located there). The tennis/pickleball court was totally demolished so they had temporary pickleball set up on the basketball court which could develop a line to use.
We would probably go back after the renovations are complete and only with a three bedroom cabin which hopefully is nicer"
