"When I checked in for a Deluxe Double Double room, I was given a room very close to an office building whose workers could see into my room as I could observe them. Heavy curtains and inner curtains (that let some light in) are on the two windows however, one can't have these opened unless one wants to be visible to the workers mere meters from your room. I found this to be claustrophobic. I asked for another room and was given one on the opposite side of the building. Avoid rooms ending in 08."

"This hotel was warm and inviting. The room was large and comfortable. The only complaint I would have was the noise level. My room was the first on the 2nd floor landing and the restroom for the pub customers was on the landing below mine. The door going into the restroom needs oiling! It was squeaky and I could hear the hand dryer everytime someone used it. The noise from outside was bad as well and the street seemed to be a major drag strip. It is a lovely old hotel."

"We visited this hotel over 15 years ago and booked again for its great location and light, airy rooms. Unfortunately we were disappointed this time. The room was spacious but a bit dingy. There were no bedside reading lights and the room lifting overall was very dim. Bathroom was dated. Beds were however comfortable and linen was good. Breakfast was average. Limited choice and had to ask a few times for bowls and spoons which had run out. Staff were helpful and the location is as great as ever."

"I really appreciated the friendly concierge staff. One of the concierge's got my room safe to work properly and the whole team was patient and friendly. The buffet breakfast was superb and the discounted three course dinner was done really well. The rooms just need to be updated a tiny bit, that is the only improvement that I can think of."

"The unit was clean, in good condition, and the bed was comfortable. Instant coffee, teabags, sweeteners, and milk were available in the room along with an electric kettle. Check in and out was simple and quick, staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again."
