"The place was very clean, and it had all the basics I needed for a 2 week stay. I especially appreciated the gym equipment downstairs, so that I could keep my work out schedule while out of town. A few housekeeping /check-in items were forgotten (ie: clean sheets for the master bedroom - the downstairs area was locked and inaccessible), but a quick call to the owners remedied that easily. Price was maybe a little high for end of Sept/Oct shoulder-season when considering weather and the ability to use certain items during cooler weather, etc, but it wasn't over-priced by any means. Hoping to rent again in the summer when we can fully utilize all the house has to offer!"

"Enjoyed a three-night stay at Cala Tortuga. The house is very nice and easily accommodated me and 9 other members of my fishing club. The dock easily handled three of our bass boats and two others stayed on trailers in the driveway and launched each day at the nearby Henrico Wildlife Landing ramp, where we kept some truck/trailer rigs. The house was well-appointed with everything we needed to prepare group meals and enjoy our evenings after fishing. The only negative is that it is located on a very narrow gravel road that has no circle drive at the end. This leaves very little room for maneuvering trailers into the driveway but all went well."

"We had a fantastic time and the A frame was exactly what we’d hoped for! Two sisters and their mom easily slept in the two king beds in the two masters. The upstairs loft had 4 twins, which would have been great had we not wanted to share a bed. We did get excited about having 2 kayaks and 2 paddleboards to use, but we only saw 2 kayaks and 1 paddleboard. They were a bit affected by nature so we didn’t end up taking them out because we didn’t have the means to clean them up/only one of us kayaks. However!! We did enjoy sitting with our feet in the water, the views were stunning, and we’d come back again! It had everything we needed, was clean, and cozy! Definitely worth checking out!"

"We had a fantastic stay at this Lake Gaston property. The house is beautifully maintained, very clean, updated, and extremely comfortable for a larger group.The kitchen was especially impressive—very spacious, well equipped, with two large refrigerators and a super convenient icemaker. We cooked dinner for our group every night and had everything we needed. The bedrooms were comfortable with great beds, and the cozy living room was the perfect place to relax at the end of the day.Our favorite spot was definitely the dock. It was a little cozy for our larger group, but the location more than made up for it. The house sits directly on a beautiful, calm bay, which made spending time on the water incredibly enjoyable and peaceful.Communication with Alan the owner was impeccable from beginning to end. He was responsive, helpful, and made everything very easy. Check-in was so smooth and straightforward that it honestly felt like we had been there before.Overall, a great Lake Gaston property in a wonderful location. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely consider coming back!"
