"The host, Veronique, was an invaluable source of information, supporting, helpful, welcoming, funny, spoke fluent English and was very kind. If needed, she was always available, but like the perfect host, gave us complete privacy. My wife and I felt we were very lucky to meet Veronique and Francois in this life.The house is airy, spacious, with comfortable mattresses, 2 great showers, and individual room cooling units that were completely quiet. We were amazed at how quiet at night Grand Case was. There is a beautiful tree lined path that you can take to get down to the many, incredible restaurants down town. Everywhere we went we found the people to be friendly. Like Veronique, they were sincerely happy we were there. Villa Pineapple? Magnifique, superbe, splendide, somptueux, fastueux and merveilleux!"

"The ratings and reviews are a bit misleading. The hotel is a cute, friendly but very basic hotel in a truly excellent location. You are mainly paying for the location, maybe overpaying. Grand Case is a terrific area for wonderful restaurants and bars, and the beach is very nice. And there are lots of nice little shops. The hotel itself however: it is small only 8 rooms; Most of the rooms open directly to reception or the restaurant and we could hear every conversation at reception through our door; Our room was quite musty smelling--This is common in the tropics and we can live with it, But it is not pleasant; There is no place to hang a hand towel; No place to hang bath towels except maybe the same hook as the robes; the sink mirror is weirdly high so my wife could only see about half of her face (5'4"); The view and balcony were terrific; there is no drinking water except for a fee; Same with coffee; There is no refrigerator. We only ate breakfast in the restaurant. It was very good. But the whole area is known for the variety of restaurants so the restaurant did not win out over other options. I should mention that the beach staff were attentive and we enjoyed the loungers. We would stay again, but not before examining other options since the value was pretty poor."

"Clean, modern, tastefully renovated, comfortable, spacious apartment, with two large and separate bedrooms. Well stocked with kitchen utensils, beach towels, Wi-Fi, and streaming apps. Great location near the beach and restaurants. (Tip: find the fine beach at Happy Bay.)The problem: the host, Henri, was unresponsive. He manages many apartments and pays little attention to this one. Don't expect entry instructions until the last minute, or answers to questions. There was no hot water when we arrived. We reached the supposed caretaker, confusingly named Henry, who said he had quit because of disagreements with Henri. Fortunately, Henry (ex-caretaker) did diagnose the hot-water problem over the phone (circuit breaker switched off), so we fixed that issue quickly. And, and after we complained, Henri (host) did bring soap and shampoo, which were missing when we arrived. We're just lucky no other problems arose."
