This was a cute compact place in a beautiful setting! The bed seemed more compact than a queen, but it worked for our last stay in New Zealand. We seemed to be away from it all yet close by food, gas and the highway.

Beachfront Hotel
My wife and I stayed in a Sea View room January 2026. The room was spacious, modern and clean. The view of the sea was brilliant. Easy to find with ample parking. Staff were all very helpful.

The Ashley Hotel
Clean and comfortable good room and plenty of hot water. Indoor Pool very cold. Spa tub too murky to use. Delicious dinner but service very slow and over an hour from ordering to the meal arriving - the restaurant wasn’t full but I suspect only one cook on duty. TV did not work even when the batteries ...

Shining Star Beachfront Accommodation
Such a relaxed place to stay right on the beach. Just across the road from the glow worms and my daughter saw a seal playing in the water at the beach.
