"The amenities at the property was well thought out. The staff at the breakfast kitchen was attentive and made sure everything was restocked timely. The front desk (Zack) was professional, helpful and did all he could to make sure guests stay are stress free! The cleaning team was immaculate in every area. It was a wonderful experience.
However, the only recommendation I have is that the fire pit area should be limited (I'd say and hour per family) during the evening from six pm to 8 pm. This will give everyone a chance to enjoy and relax around the fire place. There are some people that are inconsiderate and would sit there from 6 pm to midnight."
"When I booked we should of had a small balcony with the obstructed view. I wish I saved the photo that I looked at online when I booked. We ended up in a room with just a window.
It was nice to be close to town so we could walk the places to eat. The Lobster Festival is also going on so that was an easy walk also. The rooms are clean."
"We really enjoyed our stay at the Harkness Hotel. You can tell this property has been thoughtfully renovated. The room was spotless, the sheets were crisp, and the king bed was incredibly comfortable after a full day of exploring the Maine coast.
Our king room faced the back of the hotel, which made it nice and quiet in the evenings for a good night’s sleep. In the morning, we could hear some traffic from Route 1. It wasn’t overwhelming—in fact, it was almost soothing at times, though if you’re a light sleeper it might be a little distracting.
The location was perfect—snuggled between Rockport and Camden, making it easy to explore both towns. It was also just a short drive to the local grocery store and within walking distance of American Flatbread Company, which was a nice bonus.
The hotel focuses on providing a clean, comfortable stay without unnecessary extras, and it does that very well. If you’re looking for a modern, affordable place to stay while exploring Midcoast Maine, the Harkness Hotel is a great choice. We’d definitely stay here again."
