It was a spectacular place; the room, the amenities, and especially the hotel staff made you feel at home. The views are beautiful, and getting there is easy; just keep in mind that you have to take a gondola down and back up, which is less than 10 minutes, or hike for about 2 hours. I would undoubtedly return to stay for a long period.

Great news place to stay. I was worried about the logistics but it wasn’t a big deal. Just take the gondola up. Staff was friendly and helpful, dinner and breakfast at the property was delicious.

I had a booking issue that could have been easy to resolved by the management at the hotel (and by Expedia) but it was not and it cost me many hundreds of dollars. We reached out to the management several times and even tried to talk with them while at the hotel but with no luck as the management was not on premises. This is definitely a no frills place. The bathrooms are private but are not connected to the rooms which was inconvenient. It's very rustic for the price and it feels abandoned at night. It doesn't have much to offer and is very remote. The views are nice and the rooms (although quite small) were clean.

Dinner and breakfast were great. Staff were not helpful at check in. After the restaurant closed, staff sat on the front patio and smoked for over an hour. With no air conditioning we had the windows open to cool down the room, which are directly above the patio. The second-hand smoke smell filled the room so bad we had to shut them, which wasn’t pleasant.

Perfect hotel in the the perfect place

Hotel location is perfect to enjoy the alps, either if it's things to do and enjoy quietly. Restaurant is very convenient and the place is very conformable. I'll definitely use again if I have the chance.

This is a great place to stay ! great views from the room and hotel deck. very clean rooms and up to date bathrooms . Alot of fun taking the FIRST gondola to the hotel. highly recommend this hotel!

Great place to explore the activities of Grindelwa

We only stayed one night while exploring all the fun activities of Grindelwald. Perfect location. Beautiful views and a great room for a family of 4. Very comfortable temperature at night. Both dinner and breakfast was excellent. They accommodated my gluten allergy very well.

Expensive to stay but great views. Playground available on site for young children. Restaurant had a decent menu. Fun bunk beds for kids in family room we had. Close to First for activities. Friendly helpful staff.
